I had the opportunity to pour into a group of beautiful young girls through my Pinkey Promise Class, and it reminded me why this is more than hair for me — this is purpose.
Before we ever picked up a comb, we started with a simple but powerful exercise about inner vs. outer beauty. We talked about what people see on the outside… and what God sees on the inside. I shared 1 Peter 3:3–4, reminding them that true beauty comes from the heart — a spirit that is gentle, kind, and precious in God’s sight.
Then we got to work ✂️
The girls learned:
• Sectioning and clean parts
• Basic braiding techniques
• Grip control
• The importance of neatness and patience
But more than that… they learned to encourage one another, take their time, and build confidence.
That’s what Pinkey Promise means to me 💗
It’s a promise to teach not just hands, but hearts.
To remind every girl that she is already beautiful, already valuable, already seen.
This is truly my passion.
