At Shed de Tonale every product used behind the chair I strongly stand behind for the best quality each line delivers.
I proudly use the complete Schwarzkopf Professional color lineup because it represents the highest standard in hair care. Its advanced formulas deliver intense pigment, predictable true-to-tone results, and a radiant finish that keeps your hair strong and healthy. When you sit in my chair, you’re getting a premium experience backed by the best technology in the industry.
I strictly use the Bōkka BOTÁNIKA Styling Line for my backbar and retail because their formulas are entirely cruelty-free, vegan, and packed with nourishing botanicals like quinoa protein and argan oil. They give me total styling control—from smooth glass hair to touchable volume—all while repairing bonds and extending the life of your color. It’s salon-exclusive quality you can take home to keep your hair healthy between visits. Most importantly it’s color safe.
For hair that needs more loving I use the Schwarzkopf Fibre Clinix line because its Bondfinity Technology actually rebuilds the hair from the inside out, customizing every treatment to your exact needs (whether that’s maximum hydration, color locking, or intense repair). It reduces breakage by up to 93% and locks in that fresh-out-of-the-salon shine and strength long after you walk out the door.
The K18 prep spray and molecular repair mask are included in color services where needed. This biotech-powered duo works at the deepest molecular level, using a patented peptide that mimics natural keratin to permanently reconnect broken polypeptide chains. It doesn’t just wash out or mask damage—it repairs your hair from chemical services and heat in just 4 minutes, leaving your hair stronger and healthier than before we started.

Grey Blending
Today’s project I focused on blending as softly as possible previous red box dye from Sally’s. I tried to match her salt and pepper pattern from her natural roots. Her goal is to not color her hair anymore. This will ensure her natural grow out will be much more soft and blended.
This is a very detailed service that can take several hours. With lots of treatment.
I micro foiled the entire head back to back with the low light and highlights. Followed by the pre tone. Finished with it the global silver toner.
I didn’t want to bleach out the entire head as later down the road that would look really terrible as it grows out and the toners start to fade. I left some of the warm box dye pieces in creating a softer more realistic transition, while keeping the integrity of the hair.
This was really fun for me and she was very happy which makes me super happy. That’s why we do this after all.

The 4th photo is not mine, but it’s an example of what it takes going from black box dye to blonde. You have to go through a process to remove all the warmth. It usually takes 2 to 3 sessions to finally get to a good place.
She had natural virgin roots that are about 3 to 4 inches which is a dirty dish water level 7 blonde. The rest is years of 4N box dye. She did two sessions of color oops at home. It helped to break the base, but it also left uneven blotchy spots everywhere which is normal for this process.
Today was session 2, and I feel like we finally got her to a good place. She listened to me and did treatments on her hair to get it ready for this next round from her first session which was a month ago. The first session I used K18 for prepping. And after seven hours and nearly 7 bowls of bleach we were able to get to these results. The box dye literally stopped moving at this point.
We both were expecting her to walk out with red orange hair, but we far exceeded that.
This was an intensive very detailed project. This is the full transparency of the process.

My goal today was to lift as much as we could without compromising the integrity of the hair. I used K18 for prepping. And after seven hours and nearly 7 bowls of bleach we were able to get to these results. The box dye literally stopped moving at this point.

Not bad at all for the first session. We have another one in late July. I can’t wait to work on more of the mid to end warm banding.
This was an intensive very detailed project. This is the full transparency of the process.
But I always love a challenge.
Stay tuned for session 2.
