Ho'omana Lomilomi Training
Learn Lomi Lomi Hawaiian massage from a native Hawaiian cultural practitional on the island of Maui.
Ho'omana is led by Jeana Iwalani Naluai...wrapping the arms of aloha around the globe!
Legends are often rooted in true events. In South Africa, a Zulu elder once told me: "We know Maui. We call him Mauwela the one who crosses over to ocean.
He came from Libya — a great warrior and navigator who pulled the islands from the sea." It's a story told across Polynesia — and it's really about wayfinding.
Look up at night and you'll see Manaiakalani, the fishhook-shaped constellation (Scorpius).
Voyaging by the stars, the first thing you'd see approaching land is the tip of a mountain rising from the horizon — that's the legend, in real life.
Hoʻomana is a living classroom — ancient healing, sacred sites, ho'oponopono passed down through oral tradition. Storytelling is how we remember. ✨
Our Fall Mastership starts October 16. Comment "MAUI" and we'll send you the info. 🐟🪝
You are responsible for your Bowl of Light.
There comes a moment when we remember that we don’t have to live according to the judgement of others.
When we are aligned with our true spirit — with what feels pure, true and pono for us — we can choose to step forward.
Beyond the fear.
Beyond the overwhelm.
Beyond worrying about what others might think.
And sometimes, when we do, a whole new world opens in front of us — one we simply couldn’t see while everything was clouded by fear and judgement.
This is part of the wisdom within the parable of the Bowl of Light.
Your bowl is yours to tend.
No matter what has happened or what has been placed within it along the way, you have the responsibility — and the power — to care for it, tend to it and clear what no longer belongs.
So that your light can shine through again.
✨ What stones are you carrying in your Bowl of Light right now and are ready to release?

Ho'omana Lomi Lomi Comes to the Mainland
Have you been wanting to learn lomi lomi?
Maybe it's been on your dreamboard since a short course in massage school. Maybe you saw that flowing, forearm stroke on YouTube and pictured yourself becoming part of this ancient rhythm. Maybe you've always wanted to learn Hawaiian culture and practice, but haven't had the time or resources to travel all the way across the Pacific.
I have good news for you.
This December, I'm bringing lomi lomi to the mainland. December 6–12, I'll be in Utah to share Hawaiian lomi lomi fundamentals and lomi ʻiliʻili — hot stone therapy.
You'll learn a full-body technique. The history of lomi lomi, and the lineage of elders who carried this work forward before us. Hoʻoponopono for healers. And how to administer a full lomi lomi sequence using heated lava stones — to melt tension, address injury, and restore circulation to the body.
Why hot stones? They transform and transmute energy. The heat penetrates into the tissue and lets you go deeper than a client could normally tolerate — offering a different pathway to interrupt the pain cycle keeping those muscles in spasm. The stone becomes an extension of your hands. And because our bodies carry the same mineral substance as the earth, people often feel safer receiving from a stone than they do from hands alone — it opens the door for them to release what they've been carrying.

“Sometimes the most powerful release begins when we stop pushing and start listening.”
This is especially true when working with the psoas.
Because it lies deep within the body, our instinct can be to believe that deeper pressure will create a deeper release.
But in Lomi Lomi, we approach it differently.
Rather than forcing the tissue to let go, we use breath, gradual pressure and deep listening to work with the body instead of against it.
The question becomes less:
How deeply can I get into this muscle?
And more:
What does this body need in order to soften?
Sometimes the answer isn't more pressure.
It's more presence. 🌺

Where your thoughts go, your energy flows.
How often do we give our mana to the very thing we don’t want?
We replay the hurt.
We repeat the story.
We tell ourselves what went wrong, what was done to us, why we can’t move forward.
And each time we return to that story, we give it more of our attention. More of our energy. More of our mana.
As Auntie Mahi taught:
Where your thoughts go, energy flows.
This isn’t about denying what happened or pretending difficult experiences don’t matter.
It’s about remembering that your pain is not the entirety of who you are.
There is also your light.
Your strength.
Your possibility.
Your power.
And when you reconnect with that, you get to choose where your mana flows next.
✨ What are you ready to stop feeding with your energy?

You are more than your physical body. 🌺
In Hawaiian healing, the kino (body), poʻo (mind), naʻau (emotions, intuition, and inner knowing), and ʻuhane (spirit) are all deeply interconnected and constantly influencing one another. When one part is out of balance, the others are naturally affected as well—reminding us that healing is never just one-dimensional.
E mālama nā kino a pau — Care for all of your bodies.
This means tending not only to physical health, but also to your thoughts, your emotional world, and your spiritual connection. True wellness comes from honoring each layer of who you are.
Healing invites us to slow down, listen inward, and gently return to lōkahi - a state of balance, harmony, and alignment within ourselves and with the world around us.

What are you carrying that is keeping you from moving forward?
In this teaching, Kumu Jeana shares a practice of looking into your Bowl of Light and noticing what is still there — past experiences, unresolved emotions, old stories, or even burdens we have picked up for the people we love.
Sometimes, in our desire to help, we take on someone else’s “stone.” But carrying their suffering doesn’t necessarily lighten their load. Now there are simply two people carrying the weight.
And the more we retell a painful story, give it our energy and connect others to it, the heavier that stone can become.
Through the Hawaiian practice of Hoʻoponopono ʻAi, we are invited to look honestly at what we are carrying and ask:
✨ Does this still belong in my Bowl of Light?
✨ Does it resonate with who I am becoming?
✨ Is it mine to carry at all?
✨ What am I ready to release?
With the support of Spirit, the elements, our guides and ancestors, we can begin to lift those stones from the bowl — creating space for our own light to expand again.
As the weight leaves, the light has somewhere to go.
And that light can begin illuminating the path ahead.

Before you dig into the psoas… try this. 👀
When we feel tension deep in the psoas, the instinct can be to go straight in with deeper pressure.
But deeper doesn't always mean more effective.
In Lomi Lomi, we approach the body differently.
Rather than forcing the psoas to release, we work with breath, positioning, gradual pressure and awareness to create the conditions in which the body can begin to soften.
Inhale. Exhale. Sink. Lean.
No rushing.
No fighting the tissue.
No trying to overpower the body.
Instead, we ask:
How can I work WITH this body rather than doing something TO it?
Because sometimes release doesn't need to be forced.
It needs to be invited. 🌺
