🙅🏻‍♀️ I didn't use hair dye. I used water.

Literally. That is the only difference between these photos. I had already cut her hair before taking the first photo. We went directly from that photo into the sink.

Thats where I showed her mom, and my 10 year old client who watched through a mirror, how to break the surface tension of water. 🤯

And hair that had been giving them such a hard time for so many years melted into silk. It was amazing to watch.

I didn't even have to detox it.
The chronic dryness happening here wasn't from buildup.

It was simply believing that getting water ON the hair was the same thing as getting water IN the hair. Spoiler alert. It's not the same.

🙃 And the results prove it.

You should have seen mom with her phone taking photos and making notes in her app.

Not about the products and the order I used them, but about the motions I was making with my hands.

The HOW. That's where the magic is. ⚡ And she saw it.

Here's the thing:

Any Joe Schmo with a tool box can show up to the construction job with a box of tools.

🙅🏻‍♀️ IT DOESNT MEAN HE CAN BUILD A HOUSE.

He can have all the right tools in his toolbox and still not be able to build a house.

The tools don't build the house.
Joe does. 👷🏻‍♀️

Does Joe use the tools to build the house? Yes.
But if he doesn't know what he's doing, the tools don't matter much.

😏 If he's saavy, he can probably make it work no matter the tools.

The day you start thinking of your hair care products like tools in your toolbox is the day your relationship with your hair completely changes.

Because you stop expecting your product to do all the work for you and start to realize that you are the one.

All this time. It's you. 🙌🏻♥️

Your motions, your movements, how deeply work in products, the way your hands move when you apply them, and your ability to break the surface tension of water are the things that will make or break your experience with your hair.

Without these things, the struggle will be real no matter what product you reach for.

But with these things, and THEN the right tools.....baby, the sky isn't even the limit! 💫

Today's shots are for the girls who feel like they spend their entire shower detangling their hair. For those of you with those baby fine strands that like to knot right up.

The ones with frizz you feel like you can't beat.
Hair you feel like you don't have any control over.

Or daunting matts that form when the hair gets wet.

And I could not have asked for a better model to walk through my door. Candice Hall was, no joke, sent directly from the Lord.

Listen to this:

Two weeks ago I had planned a full day photo shoot. A model in the morning, and a model in the afternoon. Three and a half hours each. Breakfast and coffee for the team, catered lunch for everyone involved.

Custom gift sets for each model.
And my afternoon model doesn't show.

But there was something in me that knew even when it was happening that she wasn't the one.

It was supposed to be someone else.
3 days later, Candice messaged me.

"Wanted to speak with you about getting my 3 daughters hair cut trimmed and styled. And one for me as well"

And the rest is history.
Twelve days later and she's the cover model for the entire program!

The EXACT model I needed to explain how to hydrate and detangle baby fine coils that naturally want to lock up when they're wet.

Because you know when the last time Candace took a moment for herself was? Prolly ten years ago.

The woman has FIVE KIDS, and TWINS.
And looks fine as hell while she does it I might add.

But, life is real, she works out every day, her hair takes at least an hour to fully detangle, and she admits that she just kind of... Rips through it.

She's got a literal whole house of screaming children with new motor bikes in spring time. She's gotta get out there lol.

My goal today was simple: help this woman make it easy.

A lot of people try and tell me that this healthy hair stuff takes lots of time. But, the way I look at it, this is an investment of time.

The choices that you make right now will either make it harder, or easier, for you tomorrow.

And next week.
And next year.

Today gave me proof that this work, isn't just me, at work.
It is all of us.

We are creating this together.

It is a higher power.
It feels like a movement.

The kind of movement where we finally break up with beauty standards that taught us to reject the most authentic parts of who we are.
