Scissor Sisters Salon - NJ

It is with an extra heavy heart that we share the matriarch of our family has joined her true love of 69 years. Many of us have her to thank for the salon and the many many years of sweet treats provided to the salon either for our customers or for years of fundraising . She was small but mighty with such a big personality and an even bigger heart. We will miss you grandma 🤍

Her obituary:

Our beloved mother, Mary Palmarozza (90), decided to join our devoted dad August 27, 2026. A true love story , married almost 69 years , her husband Harry passing only four weeks ago.
Mary graduated from Trenton High School . After graduating she worked for the state of Trenton for a few years before starting her family. After raising her family, she had a second career in Manahawkin, New Jersey, where she owned her Bridal Shop. In 1981 she opened Corner Casuals which then transitioned to Corner Bridals. When her daughters added onto the shop for a hair salon , Scissor Sisters , it changed to Corner Formals. Through the years, Mary dressed many brides , mother of the brides , prom girls and rented tuxedos. She enjoyed working with the brides, surprising them sometimes by changing what they originally thought they wanted to something that made them look beautiful for their special day . She loved giving back to the community, making donations to the local high schools and theater groups with samples of her merchandise .
After retiring from the business she enjoyed baking (hope you got to try her cookies ), sewing , art classes and going to the beach in Venice Florida where she was a snowbird . But mostly she loved being a Grandmother and babysitting her grandchildren . Spending time with them was her biggest joy. Then came along her great grandchildren, which she also enjoyed spoiling and babysitting.
Four years ago she moved with her husband Harry to Florida permanently. Mary had suffered from Alzheimer’s and going back-and-forth became challenging. Mary passed away from a fall that she could not recover from.
She is survived by her three daughters , Dawn Delaney , Donna Palmarozza and Dina Basile , her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
We love and miss you Mom but your mind is at peace and you are with Dad❤️

It is with a heavy heart that we share the patriarch of our family has passed on July 29th. The man who single handily has provided so many of our family members with a place to work , starting with a bridal shop for his wife turned into a salon for his daughters and now grandkids and generations to come because of his hard work and support for his loved ones. If you had the pleasure of knowing him you should consider yourself lucky because he was one of the most caring,selfless, hardworking people around.
