Meet Samantha, the heart & hands behind Carnation Creations! 🤎🌿
What started as a love for arranging flowers at home eventually bloomed into something so much bigger. After 11 years working for the county, an unexpected career change gave Samantha the push she needed to turn something she truly loved — creating with flowers — into her full-time business.
And we love that she’s doing it right here in Manawa! 🫶
At Carnation Creations, every arrangement is thoughtfully created with the person receiving it in mind. From everyday arrangements and flower subscriptions to her interactive mobile bloom bars, Samantha brings such a personal touch to everything she creates. 🌸🌿
And she’ll be bringing something extra fun to Our Fall POP-UP EVENT at The Root Collective Co. !

☕🍂 VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: Wild Grounds LLC 🍂☕
As we get closer to Our Fall POP-UP EVENT at The Root Collective Co. , we want to introduce you to some of the amazing small businesses joining us — starting with Wild Grounds! 🤎🌿
And their story is pretty neat.
Before Wild Grounds was serving up specialty coffee, their little trailer was a 1970s Shasta camper found sitting in a farm field! After being transformed into a mobile coffee trailer and spending a couple of seasons with its previous owner, Samantha heard it was for sale and knew she had to reach out.
Coffee had already been part of her story. She worked at her aunt’s coffee shop in high school and had always thought owning a mobile coffee unit would be fun. In January 2024, they took the leap, purchased the trailer and Wild Grounds began taking root. ☕🤎
They tested coffee from six different roasters before choosing Operation Coffee, not only because of the flavor, but because of the care that goes into each roast and the knowledge behind dialing in the perfect cup.
Wild Grounds offers hot & cold specialty coffee drinks along with non-coffee options, and they make an effort to support other businesses too — their baked goods come from Breadsmith in Appleton, and their milk is locally sourced from Lamers Dairy. 🥐🥛
And for our pop-up, they’re bringing their FALL MENU! 🍁☕

Rooted & Wild Boutique LLC received not one, but TWO big denim shipments today — Artemis Vintage + Saige Denim! 😍 Brand-new styles, restocks, boxes being unpacked, orders being packed up and local deliveries heading out. 📦
A little peek at what’s been happening on the boutique side of The Root Collective Co. 🌿🤎
The building may still be under renovation, but Rooted & Wild Boutique LLC has definitely been busy! Boxes upon boxes of new inventory have been arriving, and the girls have been busy opening, tagging, organizing, adding new arrivals to the website and packing up and sending out your orders along the way! 📦🤎
It’s pretty exciting watching the boutique grow while we’re also watching the space it will eventually call home come together.
While our storefront isn’t officially open yet, you don’t have to wait to shop! Rooted & Wild is already online with shipping and local pickup available. 🌿

The flooring process… because this one deserves its own reel. 🌿🤎
When we took over this building at the end of May, we knew there was a lot of work hiding underneath those old tile floors… we just might not have realized quite how much.
We started by tearing out thousands of square feet of tile. Then came scraping, grinding, removing years of glue and adhesive, cleaning, prepping…and more grinding. And more cleaning.
Once we finally got down to the original concrete, I knew I didn’t want to cover it back up. I wanted to work with all of its imperfections, cracks and history and turn it into something that felt like The Root Collective Co.
So apparently I decided to treat roughly 2,000 square feet of concrete like one giant canvas!
Layer after layer went down — Putty, Pewter, Driftwood, another soft Putty veil — adding and adjusting color until we got the movement and dimension I was looking for.
Basically… a 2,000-square-foot balayage. 😂
And finally, the high-gloss sealer brought ALL of that color and character to life. ✨
Is it perfectly uniform? Nope. And that was never the goal. We wanted character. We wanted movement. We wanted some of the history of this old building to still show through.
Looking back at that first picture with the little square tile and comparing it to where we’re standing today is pretty crazy. There have been a LOT of hours between those two photos. 🤎
But seeing it all come together makes it worth it.
One more big piece of this renovation checked off. ✔️

Who’s headed to the Riding Into Symco Trail Ride this weekend?! 🐴🍂🤎
We love seeing events like this happening right here in our area, and the Rodeo City Riders have put together such a fun weekend!
The 3rd Annual Riding Into Symco Trail Ride has a little bit of everything planned — miles of trail riding, raffles, food, live music, vendors, breakfast Saturday & Sunday morning, a coffee bar, and even Cowboy Church with live acoustic music Sunday morning. 🤠🎶☕️
It sounds like the perfect fall weekend to load up the horses, grab some friends, and enjoy everything they have planned while supporting a great local organization and our community. 🤎

When you’ve been a hairstylist for 20+ years, apparently EVERYTHING becomes a canvas. 😂
Give me a canvas and I guess I just can’t help myself.
Apparently I’m treating this concrete floor the exact same way I treat hair color.
We started with our Putty base, then I added Pewter to create some cool depth and dimension. Once I saw it down, some areas were reading a little cooler and harsher than I wanted, so in came Driftwood to add a little warmth and soften everything up.
And now? I’m basically getting ready to “tone” the entire floor with a light veil of Putty to blend it all together before we seal it. 😂
So yes… apparently this is just one giant, 2,000-square-foot balayage.
The goal has never been a perfectly uniform floor. I want it to have movement, depth, variation, and some of that old-concrete character still showing through — just like dimensional hair color, where all the different tones work together instead of everything being one flat color.
Once the final Putty veil is on and the clear coat deepens everything, I’m hoping it gives us that warm, smoky, aged industrial concrete look I’ve had in my head for this space.
One more little layer of The Root Collective coming together. 🤎🖤🌿
Apparently after all these years of doing hair, I really do look at everything like it’s a canvas. 😂
