Phils Barbershop & Shave Parlour

Hey community,
As some of you may know, there was a fire in Mount Tabor this past Monday. Unfortunately, four gentlemen were inside the home at the time. Thankfully, they all made it out safely. Three of them were uninjured, while one sustained injuries that required hospitalization and is still recovering.
These men are local tradesmen who work hard in our area, and the three who were uninjured were already back to work the very next day. We’re organizing a clothing drive to help them rebuild, as they lost everything in the fire.
We’re collecting men’s clothing in size Large — shirts, pants, sweatshirts, coats, etc. — as well as shoes and boots in sizes 8.5, 9, and 9.5.
Donations can be dropped off here at Phil’s Barbershop any day this week or next.
Let’s show what kind of community we are — strong, caring, and ready to help when our neighbors need us. Thank you so much for any support you can give.

We’ve got big news! Phil’s Barbershop is excited to welcome Luz Conde to the team.
Luz has been a Manchester, Vermont resident for over 20 years, and you might recognize her from various businesses around town. There’s no grass growing under her feet—she’s been licensed in Vermont and cutting hair for friends and family for over 10 years, and some of you may have already grabbed a cut from her while she’s been settling into the shop.
Luz will be available from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, for walk-ins only. With her joining the team, we’re thrilled to share that Phil’s Barbershop is now open seven days a week—more days, more chances to stop in, more fresh cuts for you!
Come by, say hi to Luz, and walk in for your next cut! 💈

-2024 GLOW UP OF THE YEAR-

“As my man, Phil Bowen, lined me up in the chair and I shared many things about myself, Kent graciously told me I had the best “Glow-up” of 2024. It was humbling to hear, but why would he say that?

Well, if you saw me at the beginning of 2024, you wouldn’t recognize me now. I was at the beginning of my 34th year, I was morbidly obese, pre diabetic and in the worst shape of my life. I covered it all up with the persona of DJ Big Handsome, but the reality was I had a toxic relationship with food and alcohol and a very troubling self image.

Two guardian angels in my life told me about the carnivore life style. I did a little research, I was INSTANTLY hooked!

At the beginning of April, I chose to embark on the carnivore lifestyle, put the booze back up on the shelf (6 months sober) and work on the toxicity in my life.

I have lost 65 pounds, my joint pain is gone, my skin issues have cleaned up and I have monitored my blood work throughout the process and it has been nothing but a seriously positive trend!

This all happened for a reason and it presented itself 10 weeks ago when my wife and I unexpectedly became foster parents. There is no way I could be handling that major life change without the other changes I had made. Thank you Kent for crowning me the glow up of ‘24 and I’m thankful for my new lease on life!”
