Please note: my cancellation policy isn’t there for looks. It’s in place because I only make money when I have appointments & even after that there’s taxes, rent, supplies…I’ve talked about this before. I’m not posting to complain - I’m posting to share the realities of owning a business. Last minute cancellations/no shows result in time spent in office waiting on my next client not making money, not at home doing other productive things or spending time with my old pup. A lot of times scares me into looking for another job because the reality of loosing clients over not wanting to pay a fee for last minute cancellations, not being booked, seriously makes me wonder. My husband & I both own businesses & we probably make less than anyone I know😅 it’s a long game & sometimes I think about throwing in the towel. We don’t make an hourly wage. We book what we can & at the end of the month paying for what we need to keep the business afloat we decide if we can pay ourselves. It’s not for the weak…so please, respect people’s time.
Anywhere that runs off of appointments charges fees for late cancellations, within their timeframe. I used to work for a dental office, even your Dr. charges late cancellation fees because at the end of the day you’re taking that time away. Especially small business. Drs get paid regardless, but the small guys don’t. Respect time to keep small business alive.
