Hot take? Maybe, but there should be very minimal clipping of the skin around your nails. I know, that “ingrown” pain is a different kind of hurt, but going to the wrong pedicurist can just make it worse.
Most of the time, that pain is coming from soap scum, sock lint, etc. Totally normal and totally manageable by cleaning out the gunk that collects under our nails!
Think of it like a splinter - you aren’t going to tear your skin apart trying to get it out, because you know that would just make the pain worse. Same concept with the pressure on your nails. The gentler the approach, the better you will feel!
