Alcohol is NOT nail prep. It might make a nail look clean for a few minutes, but that is all it does. Doug Schoon explains that alcohol only dehydrates the very top layer of the nail for about 20 to 30 minutes. The deeper layers of the nail plate still contain moisture, so it does not actually prep the nail in a lasting way.

The real prep that creates strong adhesion is simple. Wash with soap and water, scrub with a disinfected nail brush, and dry thoroughly. That removes oils, contaminants, and debris that alcohol alone will never touch.

The problem with relying on alcohol is that it gives a false sense of done. Many techs swipe once and believe the nail is fully ready, but what they are really doing is setting themselves up for lifting and breakdown.

I will be honest, this is something I did not know and I have never even dared to try it. I don’t actually even use alcohol on my nails to dehydrated. I just go right to my dehydrator after brushing it off. My products don’t lift. I’m nervous to try this soap and water and brush.

Yeah no. Never have never will offer dip, sns, glamdrip whatever you want to call it. Its just a hard NO!!
