It’s amazing what a good brow wax can do 🤌🏼
Over five years ago, I walked away from a decade-long career in corporate banking and emptied my 401(k) to pursue a dream most people thought was too risky.
When I said I was starting my own business, I heard things like:
“Everyone already has an esthetician.” (Ok and?)
“Nobody is going to pay those prices.” (They do)
“Is this your passion, or just your flavor of the week?” (Three years into my solo career and counting)
At the time, I couldn’t prove any of them wrong. All I had was a vision, a whole lot of faith, and the willingness to bet on myself.
What they didn’t see were the late nights, the sacrifices, the fear, the financial stress, or what it took to keep going when there was no guarantee any of this would work.
Truthfully… there still isn’t.
I’m still building this business. I’m still learning as I go. Some days I feel like I’m finally getting somewhere. Other days I question everything. Either way, I wake up every morning and choose this dream again.
The hardest part hasn’t been building a business. It’s been believing in myself when it felt like the people closest to me didn’t.
I’ve realized most people don’t discourage you because they’re trying to hurt you. They simply can’t see the vision the way you do because they’re looking at it through their own experiences and comfort zone. Their limits don’t have to become yours. If you’re waiting for everyone to understand your vision before you start, you’ll be waiting forever.
Start anyway.
Build anyway.
Keep showing up anyway.
