After working in the OR for almost a year and a half, I’ve decided to share what I think are some pros and cons of working in the OR! Link is in the bio ❤️

Today I had my capstone clinical in the postpartum unit and it was the first time ever where I felt very confident in my skills, was allowed to work independently with my patients, was allowed to chart on the computer, and was able to assist the other nurses on the unit. I have to thank my current and previous OB clinical instructors because they have both been amazing. I’m actually starting to consider this route after graduation as opposed to dermatology like I had originally planned which blows my mind considering how much I love skincare. I went into this program with an open mind and I’m so glad I did. I still haven’t made my official decision yet, but I think I’ll definitely have one by the end of May. We’ll see what happens ~

This week was my very first time in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and I enjoyed it so much to the point that I am now considering it as one of the top places that I would like to work in. The environment was super fast paced and I was able to experience so much in such a short amount of time. I was able to assist in draining CSF from a subgaleal shunt, insert a straight catheter, start an IV line, work with a CPAP and BiPAP machine, as well as administer medications. It was truly an adrenaline rush! I was so grateful to the entire team of doctors and nurses for explaining to me the rationale behind everything that they were doing as it was happening as well as for allowing me to assist in all of the procedures.

As of now, I have 4 different settings that I really like with my top two favorites being the NICU and dermatology. I am super conflicted because I genuinely like both environments. Hopefully I’ll be able to make a final decision come May! 👩🏻‍⚕️
Are any of you guys just as conflicted as I am with the different units that you like? Let me know in the comment section below !

💉 Saving lives, one vaccination at a time.
For the past two weeks I’ve been administering Pfizer and Moderna boosters and I’m honestly so grateful for this opportunity. I was able to work side by side with a current pharmacy student in a student-run vaccination clinic and have learned so much during my short time there. Not only did I learn some tips and tricks from the pharmacy student that I was paired with, but I also left feeling so confident with my administration technique as well as my "bedside" manners while talking to the patients. Overall, it was a very rewarding experience! Practice definitely makes perfect 🩺

✨Retinoids 101✨
I decided to make this little infographic about retinoids to help all beginners who are interested in starting a retinoid regimen, but have no idea where to begin. There are tons of companies that claim that their products are the best in the market, but how do you know if those claims are true?
Here I explain what is a retinoid, it’s benefits, and I’ve broken down the different types that can be found in skincare.
Hope this helps! ✨
