Heusinkveld NEW Steering Wheel Compatible Simucube 3-specific One SC Light Bridge!

Dutch sim racing hardware manufacturer Heusinkveld has officially unveiled its second-ever steering wheel, the One SC, designed in close collaboration with Simucube. Revealed at the Sim Gaming Expo 2026 in Chicago, this high-end peripheral is engineered to integrate seamlessly with the Simucube 3 ecosystem.

The headline feature of the One SC is its native compatibility with Simucube LightBridge technology. When paired with a Simucube 3 quick release, the wheel utilizes a contactless, wear-free optical and transformer-based connection built directly into the hub. This passes both power and high-bandwidth telemetry data directly through the wheelbase, completely eliminating the need for internal batteries, charging, or external USB data cables hanging from the rig.

Key Technical SpecificationsUltra-Lightweight Body: Weighs just 1,060 grams (2.3 lbs) including the integrated hub. Built from fiber-reinforced composites to minimize rotational inertia, ensuring maximum force feedback responsiveness from powerful direct-drive motors.Integrated Display: Features a 4.3-inch touchscreen driven directly by the Simucube integration, a notable step up from the display-less layout of the original standard model.Control Layout: Equipped with 12 RGB backlit buttons, 11 RGB RPM LEDs, two push-button rotary encoders, and two seven-way "funky" switches.Premium Shifters: Features toolless, adjustable magnetic push-pull shifters and dual analog clutch paddles utilizing wear-free Hall sensor technology.Open Compatibility Option: While optimized around the Simucube 3 ecosystem (Sport, Pro, and Ultimate models), it features an internal USB connector for passthrough and supporting 50.8mm and 70mm mounting patterns, ensuring it is not entirely locked to Simucube hardware.A fully functional prototype is being demonstrated at the Heusinkveld booth during the Sim Gaming Expo from September 18–20, 2026. Official retail pricing and a precise shipping date have not yet been announced.

The next generation of high-end sim racing hardware has arrived in the studio! Today on SimRace Connection, we are doing a comprehensive unboxing, first look, and long-term review of the brand-new Simucube 3 Link Quick Release.

Priced around $169, this isn't just a standard mechanical clamp. We are diving deep into Simucube's revolutionary new LightBridge system, which delivers wireless, contactless power and data transfer directly through the hub with zero wearing parts. No more tangled USB cables wrapping around your direct-drive shaft or degrading pin connectors!

What we are stress-testing in today's hardware breakdown:
β€’ πŸ› οΈ P3G Polygon Technology: Inspecting the heavy-duty, self-centering harmonic design built to distribute torque evenly under heavy force-feedback loads.
β€’ ⚑ LightBridge Contactless Teardown: How the brushless power transmission works and what wheels are natively supported.
β€’ πŸ”§ Wheel Mounting & Fitment: Mounting a standard 70mm hole pattern wheel and looking at the 50.8mm adapter configuration for formula-style rims.
β€’ πŸ†š Simucube 2 Backward Compatibility: Explaining how to adapt your existing SC2 wheel collection mechanically and using the Link Hub for data transfer.

Is this ultra-secure, zero-play connection the absolute new benchmark for high-torque ecosystems, or is the premium price tag too steep? We are putting it through a brutal iRacing and Assetto Corsa Competizione gauntlet to give you the raw, unfiltered truth.

The search for ultimate sim racing cockpit immersion continues! Today on SimRace Connection, we are doing a deep-dive review and setup guide for the custom forward-angled Sim Racing Rev Lights from WXY28Lab on Etsy. πŸ‘‰ https://www.etsy.com/shop/WXY28Lab

This review happened in the coolest way possible: the seller saw my viral Reddit post "My Top 5 AliExpress Sim Racing Accessories" https://youtube.com/live/xLfHRtiDUmM reached out, and sent me this hardware unit completely free of charge to put to the test on the channel!

I have been running this peripheral layout on my multi-monitor sim rig for a couple of weeks now, and it has completely transformed my visual awareness. I mounted this custom light bar right under the bottom bezel of my center monitor, perfectly sandwiching it right beneath my SimRuito Porsche replica digital dash unit (DDU). It perfectly mirrors the real-world dashboard ecosystem layout of the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) car that I drive on iRacing!

What we are covering in today's review and technical walkthrough:
β€’ πŸ› οΈ Unboxing & First Look: Checking out the hardware design, 3D printing craftsmanship, and the clever integrated forward-angled mount that angles the LEDs up into your eye-line.
β€’ πŸ”Œ SimHub Telemetry Configuration: Walking you through the step-by-step software setup to map the individual LEDs for engine RPM flags, launch control, pit limiters, and side-by-side spotter alerts.
β€’ 🏎️ On-Track iRacing Test Run: Jumping inside the cockpit of the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) to demonstrate exactly how these lights help you hit perfect shift points and spot peripheral traffic without ever taking your eyes off the corner apex.

πŸ‘‡ Drop a comment below: How do you track your shift points and spotters? Do you rely on wheel LEDs, an external DDU dashboard, or are you looking to add an eye-line eyebrow light setup like this one? Let's talk!

πŸ‘‡ SUBSCRIBE to SimRace Connection right now and hit the notification bell so you don't miss the mind-bending tutorial video when it drops!

Specialized Sim Racing Socks / Hospital Grip Socks: A potential step up from daily socks, but do they actually offer enough padding for heavy braking forces?

Water Shoes / Barefoot Shoes: These seem like a good middle ground for thin soles, but the quality can be hit-or-miss.

Staying Barefoot/Regular Socks: Maximum immersion and pedal feel, but my feet are begging for mercy after a long stint.

I’m really torn between prioritizing that raw pedal feel or protecting my feet from heavy pedal stiffness.

What is everyone else running for pedals? Load cells, hydraulics, ActivePedals, or something else? And what about your footwearβ€”do you put on a dedicated pair of boots every time you climb into the cockpit, or have you found a specific thin shoe or grip sock that gives you the best of both worlds?

Share your recommendations (and pics of your driving footwear if you have them)!

The Best Bang for Your "Button Box" Bucks? (SimDT Pre-Review)

Since I started sim racing, I’ve always wanted a premium button box. However, it can be really hard to justify the price. For a long time, I just used an old tablet running SimHub to build my own dash, using some pretty cool pre-designed buttons from the Overtake website. I was happy with that setup for a while.
Then, I saw the PXN button box on AliExpress. If I recall correctly, it was actually labeled as a Moza box back then. It was going for around $90 with shipping, but I thought that was way too much, so I decided to wait. Later, someone told me they found a nice button box on AliExpress for only $46. By the time I had a chance to check it out, the price had already gone up to $70 and it was relabeled as PXN. I figured "might as well" and pulled the trigger. Even though it had a plastic, toy-ish look, it did the job pretty well. The only real issue was that the ignition sequence (which is what caught my attention in the first place) didn't work correctly sometimes, but it wasn't a big deal.
As time passed, I started wanting something better. I almost attempted to DIY my own, but I could never find the time. I decided to wait for something else to show up. Bavarian SimTec appeared in the sim racing scene, and they actually had something quite different, but it was way too pricey for my budget. I waited for a price drop to pull the trigger, but that never happened.
Last year, I saw the Heusinkveld Dash button box at the Simracing Expo. At first, I didn't love the overall look, but the digital labels were amazing. The seed started to grow on me, and I was finally ready to buy it when they announced a release date for August of this year. But then, they postponed it again (it was originally supposed to come out last late spring). I even messaged them after they announced a "last chance to take a look" at the Chicago Expo in September. Wait, what... postponed again, Dutch guys?!
So, I went back to old faithful AliExpress and came across the SimDT Button Box. I already own a Gear/Flag Display from the same brand that I snatched for $40 total a while back. It has a nice CNC case, looks really premium, and is one of those accessories in my cockpit that I'm genuinely happy to own. Using that experience as leverage, I figured their button box would deliver the same quality.
I scrolled through a couple of different models, and most were around $160 including shipping. But after digging deep down the infinite AliExpress rabbit hole, I found a shop that had one left for $119. I actually liked this specific version even more because it has a clean, plain faceplate, whereas the others had yellow lines separating the sections around the buttons.
In terms of construction, this thing is not a toy at all. The faceplate is real carbon fiber, and the case/shell, whatever they call, is solid, all-black aluminum. It measures 30 x 20 x 15 cm and weighs a hefty 1.5 kg. It features:
16 button inputs
6 encoders (with a total of 32 inputs)
3 toggle switches
1 ignition start button
It also comes with 2 sheets of decals for labeling and a VESA mount. (cables and all the crap necessary to install)
At roughly 1/3 of the price of the Heusinkveld dashβ€”and with a much more realistic lookβ€”I pulled the trigger yesterday (08/25/2026) and decided to take a chance. I searched YouTube for videos but only found one from an Italian creator, Xander (I actually ended up subscribing to him). His video gave me confidence that this box will finally deliver what I’ve been looking for at a fair price. Honestly, I would have paid the full $160 if I hadn't found this deal just to make clear how I'd like it.
I checked back this morning to see if the seller had shipped it yet (he hasn't), but noticed the stock quantity in his shop went right back to 1, haha! So, if anyone wants to follow me on this purchase, there you go.
If you already own one of these, I would love to hear about your experience with it! Hopefully, I don't get a comment saying, "Crap, you shouldn't have bought that!" lol.
Let me know your thoughts! Do you own a button box? What brand is it, or did you go the DIY route? Share a picture of your setup if you can!

My Top 5 AliExpress Sim Racing Accessories: 4 Years Later (Review & Upgrade Advice) πŸŽοΈπŸ‡¨πŸ‡³πŸŽ›οΈ

I wanted to share a 4-year long-term review of my setup. Budget-friendly hardware can be hit or miss, but I’ve been running these 5 accessories straight from AliExpress for four years now, and they have completely transformed my rig's immersion:

(Disclosure: As an official partner, I earn a small commission from qualifying purchases made through the tracking links below at no extra cost to you. Thank you for supporting the growth of SimRace Connection!) πŸ‘‡

🏁 SimDT Gear Flag Display (Adds great peripheral info during intense races)

⏱️ Racelogic Telemetry Device (Keeps you focused with real-time lap timing updates)
πŸ‘‰: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_c4UZmZlD

πŸ“Ί SimRuito 10.3-inch Racing Dashboard Display (Fits all the telemetry info you need and is a total must-have for Porsche fans)
πŸ‘‰: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_c4mGUjMP

🌬️ Wind Simulator Hub (Creates incredible immersion, especially when using VR, and keeps you cool during long sessions on your rig)
πŸ‘‰: https://amzn.to/4zChibB

πŸŽ›οΈ PXN Button Box (Great for keeping your inputs organized right at your fingertips)
πŸ‘‰: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_c39WbkgL

Honestly, I absolutely love all five of these. They have been bulletproof workhorses for my daily stints, and the value for money is hard to beat compared to some big-name brands. However, I think my setup is ready for an evolution. I’m officially looking to upgrade my PXN button box to something a bit more sleek and premium, and I’m highly leaning toward sourcing the replacement from AliExpress again given how well this gear has treated me. Do any of you guys run these specific accessories on your rigs? What are your favorite, must-have budget additions from AliExpress, and what do you consider completely unnecessary or a waste of money? Let’s talk budget gear!
