Not every squat needs to be deep.
And not every client should start with a barbell .
One of my favorite teaching tools is the box squat.
✅ Builds Confidence and Control
✅ Encourages proper hip loading
✅ Gives a a target for depth
✅ Easy to progress over time
For some clients, a box squat is the destination.
For others, it's simply a step in the process.
Either way, the goal is the same:
Move well.
Get stronger.
Stay healthy.
The best exercise isn't the most advanced one.
It's the one that helps you improve safely and consistently.

Most people don't need a harder workout.
They need a coach who knows when to push and when to pull back. At Sartor Built, every program starts with movement, competency, and recovery.
Because the fastest way to progress is staying healthy enough to keep training. The goal isn't to make everyone do the same exercise.
The goal is to train the same movement pattern in a way that matches the person in front of me.
In these photos, every client is working on a hinge pattern.But the tools, loads, and variations are different because every athlete brings a different history, ability level, and set of limitations.
Good coaching isn't forcing people into an exercise. It's adapting the exercise to the athlete.
Meet people where they are.
Build competency.
Create confidence.
Keep moving forward.

Being a parent is a privilege, and it makes watching my brother and sister-in-law become parents that much more special. Words cant describe how grateful I am to be such a part of this journey.
As for my niece Raelyn—I’m 100% obsessed. I haven’t felt like this since my own kids were little. I just find myself staring sometimes, like I can’t believe this is my baby brother’s baby.
With so many people who love you, you’ll never walk (or crawl) alone
