You Got Caught… Wearing Your Helmet! 🍦🚲

School is out, the weather is nice, and we are seeing more kids and families out riding bikes, scooters, skateboards, inline skates, and more.

That also means it’s a great time for a reminder: helmets matter. Whether it’s a short ride around the block or a trip across town, wearing a properly fitted helmet is one of the easiest ways to help prevent serious injuries.

Our officers are once again keeping an eye out for kids making safe choices through our “I Got Caught!” program. When officers spot young riders wearing their helmets and practicing good safety habits, they may receive a “ticket” for a free ice cream cone from McDonald’s.

Officer Colin Johnson recently caught this young rider doing the right thing and rewarded them with a free ice cream coupon!

So keep those helmets on, ride safely, and maybe you’ll get caught too! 🍦👮‍♂️
