Salon 66

Hi, my name is Shauna Walls. I am a local cosmetologist that has 13+ years salon experience behind t Salon 66 is operated by cosmetologist Shauna Walls.

07/30/2022

I am booked through Sept 11th, you will have to book your next appointment before leaving the salon to get in with me or wait several weeks out. This is for notifications, not appointments, so text me or call me for an appointment.

07/08/2022

I appreciate you guys booking your appointments in advance. It makes things a lot easier on me. I'm staying booked up 3-4 weeks out.

06/15/2022

I only have one weekday evening left for color lengthy appointments in June. That is Wednesday, June 29th. After that, it's July 25th, 27th and 28th. My next weekend available is July 9th and 10th. Anyone needing more than a 30 min appointment should book in advance, I'm staying too busy to squeeze in last minute requests that take longer than 30 mins.

05/23/2022

This week and weekend have been booked for a couple of weeks and I can't possibly squeeze in anyone else. I am not taking anymore appointments for Monday, I'm already working part of Memorial day as well. Anyone needing anything will have to be next Wednesday or Thursday evening or the following week. Y'all enjoy your memorial day weekend ✌️🏻

After shopping multiple other salons around town and realizing that I have been way too affordable, I have changed my prices. Check them out!! I just can't afford to run my business the way I have in the past. I had a bad habit of throwing add on’s in for free or not charging the way I always should have. Prices of supplies increase every January and I can't keep up with the inflation from Covid alone. Its been long overdue. It took a couple more weeks to get pricing set than I said because I actually went into some salons for pricing. My prices are now updated here and I will have them posted in the salon. I will be giving one last service to clients at their old price for shock absorption😂 take it while you can because you've had it really good. I appreciate your support. I will be offering discounts to teachers, military, first responders and seniors as well but you need to remind me at check out, same with Facebook check in and referral discount. I have a few gentlemen that receive half a haircut discount because the lack thereof. 😉
Much love to all of you.

I am available Monday and Thursday 9-9 and Wednesday 1-9. Still available the 2nd, 4th and 5th Saturdays of the mth 10-4. My salon prices will increase March first to reflect the cost of inflation and competitive salon prices.

01/13/2022

I plan on limiting my schedule to 2 days during the week. Please text me your preferred week day Monday thru Thursday and I till take note on each client to decide which days I will offer. I'm still keeping my 2nd 4th and 5th Saturday of the month available. I may choose to work the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month but that decision hasn't been made yet. Please start booking appointments 5+ days in advance.

01/02/2022

I will no longer be taking payment through apps. No Venmo, No Zelle or paypal. Cash, check or card only. It’s easier to keep all my business transactions this way. If you care about the fees I pay for small business, cash or check are accepted.

11/21/2021

My soonest after 4 or 5pm color appointment available is Tuesday December 7th or wed December 8th. My next sat available is in January. If I choose to work Dec 18th, I’ll book clients then. Again, everyone needs the same time frames and days for appointments.

I put this in every female clients hair. I use half a pump to one pump per client. It is the one product that I think everyone needs!! The 5oz bottle retails for $32. You can buy the liter for $46.99 at imagebeauty.com the reason you will pay this price is because of older packaging. You and your hair will benefit by purchasing it NOW!!

10/28/2021

If you are thinking about a future appointment, get it booked. 90% of my clientele needs after 4pm and Saturdays. I'm not available 3 Saturdays in Nov. I will not be out of town through the holidays but I will not be working the day before Thanksgiving. Text me.

Not sure when you saw me last? Look at yourself, If your roots are more than an inch and a half long, it is time to come see me.

Here is a time frame on when you should be in the salon:

👩🏻‍🦳 👱🏻‍♀️All blondes should be between 6-7 weeks, NO LATER! The darker your hair and the longer you wait, the more gold you see because the further away from the root, the harder it is to lift and prevent blonde banding. If you like platinum hair and your not getting in when you have between a 1/2” root and 3/4”, you are part of the difficultly in the lifting process.

Most coloring applications should be between 6-8 weeks. If you are waiting 8-10 weeks between appointments you have 2” of roots or more and waiting too long. Your hair grows on average 1/2” a month and 6” a year. Fine hair that grows very slow is the only exception to the rule. 10 weeks is max on normal coloring of highlights and lowlights.

If you are doing low maintenance like balayage and ombré styles, you should be in the salon 2 times a year. You should be maintaining with at least a toner and cut. ( Toner is a color that I usually put on in the bowl to create that warmth, cool or other tone that your hair no longer looks like but you don’t know why.)

Let’s talk cuts. 💇🏻💇🏽‍♀️ How long between cuts?
🙎🏻‍♂️Very short hair 1-3 weeks
💁🏽Short hair 2-6 weeks
💁🏻‍♀️Med length 2-3 mths
💇🏾‍♀️Long length 3-4 mths

Men 8-9 weeks max!!
Women every 16 weeks max!!
It is not good to only get a cut once a year. If your hair looks like trash, we both know why.

P.S. If you invest in your hair, please invest in the aftercare of it. Why spend money on color if your going to use the cheapest stuff to strip it out?!

Sulfate free is your friend. It isn’t supposed to lather much. You don’t need bubbles for clean hair. You can find sulfate free in different dollar amounts.

I’m not your momma so I won’t tell you what to do or you need to be using but I will say that I can tell who is investing in the aftercare of their hair.

10/01/2021

The holidays are coming. Let's start prebooking your appointments. I will not be available most of the Saturdays in November. Text me for appointments

08/08/2021

I had allergy and sinus infection symptoms start Thursday and they progressed yesterday so I got tested for Covid today. Covid was negative but I am positive for RSV. I was told there is an outbreak of RSV in the metroplex right now. It should last 5-7 day and treat it with over the counter meds. If anyone with appointments booked this week feels uncomfortable and needs to reschedule, get with me. I have no plans of cancelling appointments unless I feel like complete crap and I am totally ok with wearing a mask for you.

06/02/2021

Hi guys! I'm on vacation the 4th thru the 11th. I will not be taking my appointment book with me. 😊 Sat the 12th is booked. If you need evening or after 5 appointments, I have only a few nights that are open between the 14th and 24th. I have several other times of day available though. Please contact me directly by text or phone for an appointment (817) 995-1506. Thank you

I just wanted to share the vitamins I just started taking. I take several different things for my health but this is for my beauty.

03/09/2021

The Broad place salon will be lifting the mask mandate tomorrow and letting everyone choose whether they want to wear a mask or not. I personally will only be wearing one if asked to by my client. Clients may now enter and exit both doors but the doors will automatically lock at 5 for the safety of stylist that work late in the evening. Any client with appointments after 5 will have to be let inside.

02/16/2021

I will have to reschedule clients for next week.

Today at 911 we had a water line break about 3:00 pm and water was turned off. Repair crews have been called. Currently power is still on and the parking lot and walks are covered in ice and snow and forecasts call for more ice and snow tonight and tomorrow.

Because of this unusual cold weather situation now and what is forecast we do not know when repairs can be made to the water lines or when parking lot and walkway maintenance can be made because service people are currently not available and we won’t be on site to sand walks or parking lots.
Forecasts for above freezing temperatures are not supposed to come until sometime Friday or Saturday but that doesn’t mean water repairs will be made at that time or that the ice and snow will be melted. We will make repairs as soon as possible.

So PLEASE plan your work accordingly- so when you decide to work please do so knowing water will be off indefinitely, power and building heat could be an issue, and that parking lots and walks are not maintained -

Please Note- If you and your customers come to the building prior to Saturday please do so at your own risk

Sorry for the news, stay safe

02/02/2021

I am so happy to see the flow of clients coming back. I am getting a lot of requests for evening and Saturday appointments. I have Sat the 27th at 1 pm available. Afternoon/evening appointments available Feb 9th at 5:30, Feb 10th at 7pm, Feb 11th for haircuts. Feb 16th, 18th, 22nd and 25th are open. Due to COVID-19 restrictions I can not have more than one client at at time. Still the same process of waiting in your car and such. I am unable to squeeze haircuts in while clients are processing, I must do before or after the current client. Please take this into consideration when booking an appointment. I have several morning and mid morning appointments available before these dates.

12/07/2020

I’m currently only working on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday through the end of December.

11/30/2020

Hey guys, December is here and I need to prebook all afternoon and Saturday appointments. I may not be available if you haven’t done so. I’m sorry for any inconvenience.

11/18/2020

If you want a December appointment please get it booked ASAP. Any cancelled appointments wil have a $25 charge if not done so within a 24hr time frame. This charge will be to my discretion, I understand things out of our control happen. Business has not been good and I have an overhead. In an effort to remain self employed, I will be taking every spare moment that isn’t dedicated to appointments (already booked) making a dollar elsewhere. My availability may change soon.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they mandate another shut down of the salons. I have appointments booked through next week. Was planning on leaving town on the 5-9th for time away. Things are uncertain. I will not be able to supply a mask for clients as the three I have will need to be for my own rotation. I greatly appreciate everyone of you! It means a tremendous amount to me that you have loyally supported my small business. Thank you SO very, very, much!

I am not quite ready to open the shop on Monday as our salon has allowed. I am still gathering a few item I need. I am still in need of a no contact thermometer and must get disposable capes in order to do more than 6 clients a day.

I wanted to take the time to let you know the guidelines we must follow at the salon

Everyone must enter and exit the salon door closest to the storage office.

You must arrive and wait in your car for me to come out to get you

You must wear a mask or cloth material covering your face in all common areas of the salon including entering and exiting the salon, restroom and shampoo areas. I must keep my salon suite door closed

Only one client is allowed in my suite at a time. Which means if you usually come with family, that’s not allowed. Minors with their own appointment may be accompanied by 1 adult.

There will only be one client and stylist in the shampoo rooms at a time. You can imagine that be difficult on us all.

If you have a fever of over 99.5, a cough, shortness of breath, digestive issues and nausea, chills & body aches, pink eye, sore throat/ congestion, please reschedule your appointment. You will be required to sign a waiver about this and Covid-19 prior to your appointment. I am currently waiting on the pdf file and I will have to print forms for those who are not technologically savy.

There are a few more guidelines and suggestions from TDLR to follow as well that I am preparing for at the moment.

Our salon experience will not be the same for a while.

I will be opening Tuesday but can only service 6 clients a day until my disposable capes come in. TDLR suggests offering quicker services such as haircuts first so for the rest of the month until I have completed the list of clients whom have waited, I will be working in 3 phases. Phase one will be those on the waiting list who just need haircuts, phase two will be those clients who just need a root color, root lightening or toner, phase three will be the clients who usually get all the works. During this time I will not be styling/drying any hair. I apologize for the inconvenience but that will add more time to an appointment and it’s been suggested not to do so.

As you can imagine, this will be difficult for us but I am willing to do the necessary steps to keep everyone safe and get back to business.

I love you all and I can’t wait to see your faces. If you have any questions so far, please ask.

This is the current order I will be contacting clients as soon as I can get back in the salon. Again, I have to hear from TDLR first. Don’t be discouraged by your number, some of these clients are just haircuts or root services. I will do as many clients as I can on a one on one basis. If you usually come in with a family member, that will not be allowed. Only one person will be allowed in the salon per stylist at a time. I will talk to you all soon!

05/06/2020

The salon would like to open May 11th. We must wait to book appointments until we know we are able to through texas department of licensing and regulations. Once I have the green light and have had my meeting with the salon owners, I will be getting back with those of you whom have contacted me. I have received your messages. Please be patient, thank you for your support.
