The world is open on either side, only as far as the heart is wide. I am an artist, a soap maker, a traveler, a mother. www.7seassoap.com

After 18 years of making soap and teaching soap making at home and abroad, I decided to start 7 Seas Soap in 2013. My purpose is to offer natural, high quality soaps with a global flair. See my website for tidbits on current products, soap making, travel and empowering soap makers in developing countries.

While preparing to do my daughter’s wedding florals, I discovered a new hobby. A bulk order of airplants had to survive for a month! With some trial and error I learned the following : 1. Order online for best quality and price, 2. Give them a water bath once a week or more as needed to keep them happy and healthy. 3. The Utah climate is too dry and extreme for airplants. Do not keep them outside. 4. Airplants are happiest when hanging or kept in an open glass container in indirect sunlight. 5. If you want to order airplants try . They have excellent service and will replace any dead plants within 30 days. I now have a lovely collection of Tillandsia, Large Xerographica, Ionantha, Abdita, and Bulbosa. We’ve made it past the 30 days with only a few replacements. I’m hoping it’s not unrealistic to keep them for years in our home climate. If you’ve kept airplants, what has been your experience?

What I love best about creating with flowers...the variety of shapes, textures, colors, even scents. It’s beauty enhanced and found only with diversity.

Maybe you’ve seen this beautiful graphic all over social media. It was created by and she has many more. Join her tonight and tomorrow night as she continues her short series on “Taking Inventory and Assessing Implicit Bias” and “Starting Conversations and Making Real Change.” Her Christian perspective of hope, patience and compassion is a breath of fresh air. Get a little more uncomfortable with the status quo starting with our own selves in our own homes. ❤️🌍
