Danielle Balas Makeup Artist

I was born and raised in Long Island New York. Found myself mesmerized by the colors my mom wore in the late 80’s and early 90’s which inspired me to become a makeup artist from a very young age. I would often steal her lipstick and blush when she wasn’t looking and smother it around my lips and cheeks, hoping I could someday be as pretty as she made herself up to be. Growing up I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup or wear loud colors on my nails. It wasn’t until the beginning of high school that I actually started to experiment with various colors, shapes and techniques. A few years later I moved to Hollywood, Fl and got my first job in the beauty industry as a beauty adviser and the rest is history. I have immersed myself in everything and anything makeup related and this is my full time career. It must be for anyone who truly desires to provide the utmost service for their clients. Makeup artistry is not merely a career for me but it is a passion and a way of life. To truly become a master of this craft you have to eat, drink, sleep and think makeup, always pushing myself to try new techniques, colors and applications. I think of makeup artistry as a doctor would think of their practice. I desire to be well versed and trained in all aspects of makeup artistry so that when I am with my client I can bring all their dreams and desires to life before their eyes. To master makeup artistry, simply put, is life’s desire.
