Long/vulnerable post warning 🚧
I haven’t shared much here about my own health journey, but for the past year I’ve been struggling with illness in ways I never anticipated.
⬇️
After years of brushing off things like aches, fatigue, circulation issues, food intolerance/GI issues, bloody noses, and constantly itchy skin, the symptoms intensified. I had a severe “racing heart” episode I couldn’t shake. And since then, I’ve been living in a body that, at times, doesn’t feel like my own.
And after months of researching, seeing new doctors, asking questions, advocating for myself and fighting for answers, I was eventually diagnosed with POTS, MCAS and EDS.
Accepting what my “new normal” looks like hasn’t been easy. Truthfully, I’m still figuring it out. But I’m a lot closer to “normal” than I was just a year ago.
The point is, I know what it’s like being in those shoes.
- I’ve been the person sitting in the hospital bed.
- I’ve been the person taking pictures of symptoms because I need someone to understand what was happening.
- I’ve been the person wondering what I could eat without feeling worse.
-And I’ve been the person who knew something was wrong with my body long before I had answers.
So when you’re sitting in the exam chair across from me and wondering, “Could she possibly understand what this feels like?” 🤔
Please know the person on the spinny stool may understand more than you realize. They may know what it’s like to grieve the version of your life and your body you thought you knew.. while trying to figure out what comes next.
And so..
My journey has been the inspiration and blueprint for the new Legacy 740 - because I realized how important total-body health and wellness really is. We only get one shot in this life..
Some people might look at my own health struggles and see a weakness. I see them as another reason to listen and try harder. 🤍
