Our Business Person of the Year award is one of our favorites to present each year — and this year’s recipient truly embodies what it means to lead with purpose, creativity, and heart.

Ammi Fields, Licensed Master Barber and Master Barber Instructor, is the owner of ’s Barbershop & Gallery in Downtown Marion. His shop is more than a place for great haircuts — it’s a space where people connect, friendships form, and community grows.

Ammi began his journey right here in Marion as an apprentice, earned his barber license in 2020, and became a Master Barber Instructor in 2021. He now teaches at Crown Cutz Academy in Bristol, inspiring and mentoring future barbers to pursue their craft with excellence and integrity.

Beyond the chair, Ammi is making a lasting impact by partnering with a nonprofit to provide mental health training for barbers across multiple states — recognizing how vital barbers are as trusted community figures. He also gives back through outreach events that bring barbering services to those in need throughout our region.

Ammi’s passion, leadership, and dedication to lifting others make him a true example of being . 💪💙
