This has become a common conversations behind the chair lately.

If you’ve noticed more shedding, drier hair, or your hair just doesn’t feel the same… you’re not imagining it.

From what I’ve seen, it’s usually the rapid weight loss and everything that comes with it—not necessarily the medication itself—that affects your hair. So many things can cause hair loss- we, as stylists noticed it after Covid, anything stress related, surgeries... anything stressful on your body whether it be physically or mentally.

If you’ve recently started a GLP-1 (or any new medication), always let your hairstylist know. It helps us understand what your hair is going through so we can support it the best we can.

Today marks 10 years since I opened the doors to Love is in the Hair — a dream that once lived only in my heart and imagination. What started as a leap of faith has grown into something far greater than I could have ever envisioned.

Over the past DECADE, this space has been more than just a salon. It’s been a place of laughter, transformation, encouragement, and connection. Every haircut, every color, every conversation has been part of the story we’ve written together.

I’m endlessly grateful to my incredible clients — many who’ve become close friends — for trusting me with not only their hair, but their milestones, celebrations, sometimes sadness, and even their quiet moments of self-care. You’ve made this journey possible, and your loyalty and support mean the world to me.

To my family and friends who cheered me on, to those who lent a hand when things got tough, and to everyone who believed in me when I doubted myself — thank you.

Ten years is a milestone I’m deeply proud of, but it’s only the beginning. Here’s to the beauty, creativity, and community we’ll continue to share in the years ahead.
