Gray Blending ≠ Just Highlights

One of my favorite ways to blend gray lately? Adding lowlights in the client’s natural color.

Gray blending doesn’t always mean adding more blonde.

Sometimes the goal is to put the natural depth back in so the gray can melt into the existing color instead of standing out against a sea of highlights.

For this technique, I can use:
• Low lights to mimic the natural color
• Strategic placement to break up the gray
• A softer overall contrast as the natural gray continues to come in

The result is dimension that feels intentional, natural, and much less maintenance-heavy than constantly chasing every gray with coverage.

And honestly? I love when a gray-blending formula looks like it could have happened naturally. 🤌🏼
