Today was all about love, laughter, and a whole lot of hairspray as I had the honor of taking care of the hair needs for the Glover–Viccellio wedding party at Magnolia Fields in Martinsburg.

There’s something special about being part of a wedding morning—the excitement, the happy chaos, the nerves, the stories, and the moments that become memories. Behind every beautiful photo is a room full of people helping bring the day together, and I’m always grateful to play a small part in that.

Wishing the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness, unforgettable adventures, and a love that only grows stronger with time. Thank you for trusting me with such an important day. 💍✨💐

Special thanks to the most amazing Bridal Assistant Em Behind the Chair.

The Hair Photo Reality Check ✨ 📸

Not every gorgeous hair photo you see online is real life.

🔹 AI Hair Images often have clues: hair that looks too perfect, impossible shine, strands that seem to melt together, unrealistic color placement, or details that don’t quite make sense when you look closely.

🔹 Heavily Edited Hair Photos may feature boosted color saturation, smoothed texture, altered lighting, sharpened edges, or filters that make hair appear healthier, shinier, or more vibrant than it actually is.

🔹 Authentic Hair Photos show real texture, natural movement, flyaways, dimension, and the subtle imperfections that make beautiful hair believable. Real hair reflects light differently from every angle and doesn’t look identical in every strand.

As a professional color artist, I love beautiful photography—but I also believe in realistic expectations. Great hair is absolutely achievable, but it’s important to know whether you’re looking at a masterpiece of styling, digital editing, AI generation, or genuine salon results.

The goal isn’t perfection. The goal is healthy, beautiful hair that looks amazing not just in a photo, but in real life. ✨

With Love,

✨ Before & After Transformation ✨

This is a perfect example of how strategic color placement, dimension, and finishing work can completely elevate a look without sacrificing the integrity of the hair.

➡️ The After: Brightened and blended with customized highlights, soft ribbons of dimension, and a seamless root melt for a natural, lived-in blonde. Finished with loose waves to showcase movement, depth, and shine.

Beautiful hair isn’t just about going lighter—it’s about creating balance, dimension, and a color that grows out gracefully between appointments.

💛 Healthy hair.
💛 Thoughtful color placement.
💛 Results tailored to the individual.

Dear Credit Card Companies,

I’d like to formally request visitation rights for the $4,000 you took from my business in 2025.

Sincerely,
Every Small Business Owner Ever.

💸😂

In all seriousness, I paid $3,654.85 in credit card processing fees in 2025. That’s $3,654.85 that didn’t go toward supplies, equipment, salon improvements, education, or my family. It simply disappeared into the fee abyss.

Cash is still my favorite customer. It doesn’t charge processing fees, convenience fees, interchange fees, assessment fees, or “because we can” fees. It just shows up, does its job, and minds its business.

Cards are always welcome and I understand the convenience, but if you’re looking for the payment method that helps a small business the MOST, cash wins every time. Every dollar counts in this economy, and keeping more of those dollars local helps keep prices reasonable for everyone.

Cash is the Client of the Month around here. 👑💵

Today I had the honor of wearing two hats—hairstylist and friend. ❤️

It was such a pleasure to do my dear friend Heather’s hair for one of the most important days of her life. Watching her get ready to say “I do” was a beautiful reminder of how special these moments are.

Congratulations to the beautiful bride, who by the end of today will officially be Mrs. Dawson! Wishing you and your new husband a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Thank you for letting me be a small part of such a perfect day. 💍✨

It was such a pleasure being a part of the Hatcher-Jackson wedding day and helping bring the bridal vision to life. Rain may have made an appearance, but it certainly didn’t dull the joy, love, and excitement surrounding this incredible couple.

Wishing Mr. & Mrs. Jackson a lifetime filled with laughter, adventure, unwavering love, and beautiful memories together. Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of such a special day. 💍🤍

Special thanks to my Bridal Support Team - Shannon & Emily 🖤

Bonfires are fun. Singed hair is not. 🔥✂️

Today delivered not one… but TWO hair emergencies in a single day, and this one deserves a little public awareness moment.

This client got a little too close to a bonfire, and the heat literally singed the hair shaft. What looks like “a little dryness” at first can quickly turn into brittle, frayed, melted-feeling ends, excessive tangling, breakage, and hair that suddenly refuses to behave.

Hair doesn’t have to fully catch fire to sustain damage. Extreme heat alone can compromise the cuticle and weaken the integrity of the strand almost instantly.

This recovery required:
• A significant haircut to remove compromised ends
• A keratin treatment to help rebuild and smooth the damaged hair shaft
• Intensive moisturizing and protein-balanced home care instructions
• A whole lot of patience moving forward

Friendly stylist reminder as bonfire season kicks up:
🔥 Tie long hair back
🔥 Be mindful of wind direction
🔥 Keep distance from open flames
🔥 And remember… hair is extremely flammable and heat-sensitive

If your hair suddenly feels gummy, crispy, rough, or starts snapping after heat exposure, don’t ignore it. The sooner it’s addressed professionally, the better chance we have at preventing further breakage.

Signed,
A stylist who apparently spent today running an emergency hair trauma unit. 😅

𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐅 𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑:𝟏
𝐂𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓’𝐒 𝐇𝐀𝐈𝐑: 𝟎
𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐘 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐈𝐍 👊🏼

This is your reminder that industrial-strength yard equipment and long hair are NOT friends. 😳

My sweet client had a high-powered leaf blower catch her hair and literally twist, mat, and “dread” sections of it almost instantly. What looks like simple tangling can actually become extreme mechanical damage in seconds — especially with long, fine, or chemically treated hair.

What you’re seeing here wasn’t caused by neglect.
It was force, friction, suction, and torque all at once.

Thankfully, we were able to slowly and carefully work through it without immediately resorting to cutting everything off, but situations like this can absolutely lead to severe breakage or major hair loss if not handled properly.

A few friendly reminders:
• Tie long hair back securely when using power equipment
• Keep hair tucked into hoodies/jackets when outdoors working
• Never panic-cut matted hair before having a professional assess it
• And PLEASE don’t attack it with a brush at home 😅

Hair is stronger than people think… until physics enters the chat.

Be careful out there, friends. Your hair didn’t survive years of appointments just to lose a fight with lawn equipment. 🌪️✂️
