✨ Important Salon Update ✨

With the recent loss of access to my personal Facebook account as a result of it being hacked, I also lost access to my salon’s business page. The phone number currently associated with the account is no longer valid, and since May of this year, I have been unable to receive or respond to any communication through Facebook, including DMs, comments, and other interactions.

Moving forward, please direct all communication to 573-292-7486.

I am also active on Instagram and TikTok, although contact via phone is preferred.
I appreciate your continued understanding, grace, and support as we navigate this season of change, which, at times, has been pretty tumultuous.

This business has become so much more than doing hair. It has given me a place to connect with people, celebrate them, encourage them, and be a small part of so many different seasons of life.

You’ve played a part in getting me to where I am today, and I don’t take that for granted. I’m so incredibly grateful for every single person who has trusted me with their hair, their time, and sometimes even a little piece of their story.

…. “Can extensions damage my hair?” 🥁

I think we can all agree that damaged hair is NOT FUN.

Answer: They CAN. Honestly, that’s THE single biggest reason extensions have such a bad rep.

Hair loss that results from extensions is called traction alopecia. This basically means that hair was prematurely plucked from your head and did not get the chance to complete each phase of the hair cycle.

After spending years behind the chair, I hate to say this, but I’ve seen far more bad extension work than I’ve seen truly meticulous, calculated, intentional work. And the details matter.

A good extension install should take TIME.

If your stylist is taking a while, that can actually be a very good sign.

Precision sectioning is the foundation of everything. Every hair needs to be accounted for. Sections need to be clean, controlled, and appropriate for the amount of weight being added. I use water and the right tools to keep the hair damp, manageable, and easy to separate so I can see exactly what I’m working with.

That level of attention is what helps mitigate unnecessary tension, breakage, and hair loss.

Pro tip: when shopping for an extension specialist, don’t settle for photos of the finished product. It takes minimal effort to make hair look good for a photo. If you can’t find any, ask for them.

Look for:
• Before photos
• During-install photos
• Photos of the interior/sectioning
• Photos of the hair after removal
• Clean, precise partings
• A stylist who can explain why they’re doing what they’re doing

And if you’re dealing with thinning or hair loss, finding someone who specializes in that area is an even bigger plus. You want a stylist who understands that adding hair isn’t just about creating a beautiful result — it’s about understanding the hair underneath it and protecting it.

I specialize in both.

The goal is always to create beauty while respecting the hair you have.

So yes — extensions can damage your hair.

But, the right stylist can make all the difference.

This is exactly why extensions get a bad reputation. When I see work like this, it infuriates me.

When my client came to me, her extensions were.. in rough shape, to put it nicely.
-0 effort to custom color
-0 effort to custom cut
-0 effort to match the beads or thread to the clients hair
-careless stitching (this one pi**es me off the most)
-beads popping out
-wefts falling off
-rows beginning to unravel

And this wasn’t some DIY install or the work of an associate stylist. NOPE. This was done professionally, by a high level stylist, at a prestigious salon.

That’s the part that gets me.

Extensions are an investment. They should be installed with care, precision, properly maintained, and designed to blend seamlessly with your natural hair, not installed as quickly as possible so you can send your client on their way.

Because when extensions are done badly, people blame the extensions.

When really, they should be blaming the hand wielding the technique.

This is why I’m so passionate about doing this work correctly.

I believe this speaks to why so many people are transitioning from the traditional salon to salon suites and in-home salons.

Mindset is everything.
QUALITY | QUANTITY, people. Not the other way around!

A reinstall appointment shouldn’t be a rescue mission..

Your extensions should still be blending with your natural hair. Your color should still be cohesive. They shouldn’t look choppy or disconnected..

If your extensions only look seamless when they’re freshly installed or heavily styled, something needs to change.

People think artistry is easy, but they don’t see that we sacrifice our bodies more than most people realize.
