PROTEIN AND GLP-1 MEDICATIONS — WHY IT COMES UP SO OFTEN
If you've talked to anyone managing their weight on a GLP-1 medication, you've probably heard about protein. There's a reason it comes up constantly — it genuinely matters in this context more than in most.
WHY PROTEIN INTAKE IS CRITICAL ON GLP-1s
When you're in a caloric deficit — which GLP-1s help create by reducing appetite — your body needs fuel. The goal is for that fuel to come from fat stores. But the body can also pull from muscle tissue, especially if protein intake is too low.
Adequate protein intake does two important things:
🔹 Preserves lean muscle mass while weight is being lost
🔹 Helps you feel fuller longer, reducing the likelihood of eating too little overall
HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH
A general starting point for people on GLP-1 medications: aim for 0.7–1g of protein per pound of body weight daily. That's higher than most people currently eat, and it requires some intentionality.
Good sources: eggs, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, chicken, fish, lean beef, legumes, protein powder if needed.
THE PRACTICAL CHALLENGE
GLP-1s reduce appetite broadly. It's easy to not feel hungry for protein-rich foods and end up eating mostly carbohydrates, which don't offer the same preservation effect. Tracking — at least loosely — helps.
THE TAKEAWAY
If you're on a GLP-1 medication, treat protein as part of the protocol, not optional. It directly affects how your body responds to the medication long-term.

GLP-1 LONG-TERM USE — WHAT THE RESEARCH ACTUALLY SHOWS
There's a lot of speculation online about what happens when you stay on GLP-1 medications long-term. Here's what the clinical data actually says, without overstating it.
WHAT WE KNOW FROM RESEARCH
Sustained use maintains results. Studies have consistently shown that people who continue on GLP-1 medications maintain their weight loss. When the medication is stopped, weight typically returns — sometimes significantly — within a year. This isn't a character failure. It's the medication doing its job while it's present.
Cardiovascular benefits have been documented. Research has shown reductions in major cardiovascular events for patients with obesity and existing heart disease risk factors. This is a meaningful finding that goes beyond weight management.
Safety data is growing. GLP-1 medications have been used clinically for over a decade. The long-term safety profile has been studied in large populations. The most common ongoing concerns remain gastrointestinal side effects, which tend to diminish with time.
WHAT WE DON'T KNOW YET
Long-term data beyond 4–5 years is still limited for the newer generation of these medications. Research is ongoing. That's an honest answer, not a reason for alarm.
WHAT THIS MEANS PRACTICALLY
GLP-1 therapy, for most patients, is long-term or indefinite — similar to how blood pressure medication is used. That's not something to fear. It's just a realistic framing of what you're signing up for.
Questions? That's what the consultation is for.

FALL IS COMING — AND SO IS COLD AND FLU SEASON
September is the sweet spot to get ahead of it before school schedules, cooler weather, and busy life take a toll on your immune system.
The nutrients that matter most going into fall:
🧡 Vitamin C — high-dose IV Vitamin C supports immune cell production and acts as a powerful antioxidant
🧡 Zinc — activates the T-cells your body uses to fight off viruses
🧡 B Complex — supports energy production so your body has what it needs to respond when it needs to
🧡 Magnesium — often depleted under stress, which is high going into fall for most families
Our Immunity Boost blend combines all of these into one IV drip, delivered directly to your bloodstream so your body gets the full benefit.
You can also come in for individual injections if you want something quick — B12, D3, or Zinc can each be done in about 2 minutes.
Don't wait until you're already sick. This is the time to get ahead of it.
