Things no one told me before starting my career as a hairstylist....

No one told me that I’d question myself 100 times over… wondering if I was cut out for this.
That I’d sit in the back room between clients, googling “what to do when a client hates their hair .”

That I’d drive home with swollen feet at 40weeks and 4 days pregnant still working, messy hair, and a heart that felt both full and completely overwhelmed.

No one warned me how heavy it can feel to carry everyone’s stories…
The breakups, the grief, the postpartum shifts, the silent struggles—
And somehow still be the one who brings the light.

But… no one told me the good stuff either.
And maybe I’m glad they didn’t.
Because I got to discover the magic on my own.

Like how a pair of shears and a salon chair would become the place where transformation happens. Or as I also say, my ministry.

Where people walk in heavy and leave lighter—because of something you did.
How one “just a trim” client could turn into a forever friend.

How your tiny space behind the chair would become a safe place for others.
And how, somewhere along the way, it became your safe place too.

They didn’t tell me that I’d fall in love with this career 1,000 times over.
That I’d look back and barely recognize the girl who was scared to charge more than $100 because being a hairstylist "isn't a real career"... HA!

That I’d grow something so beautiful out of the messy middle.
