When your “quick color appointment” turns into a 4½ hour hairapy session… 😂🤩

But seriously… color corrections are NOT a race, and this one was a perfect example of why. 🤌🏼✨

We started with TWO Malibu C CPR treatments under high heat for the maximum processing time to safely remove as much unwanted color as possible. Then I went in with a Wella Color Touch demi gloss to rebuild the tone and create a beautiful, rich, natural-looking result.

Because maintaining the integrity of the hair is ALWAYS part of the plan, I followed with K18 Molecular Repair Leave-In Mask, then finished with a blowout + curls because… obviously we have to make her feel EXTRA pretty after all that work. 🥰✨

A little brightness + a whole lot of blending! 🤍 This faux full highlight was designed to soften her growout while creating beautiful brightness with raw lift for a seamless result.

Before we even touched the lightener, we removed those dry, damaged ends with a fresh haircut—giving her hair a healthier foundation for the transformation & utilizing k18 to help protect and repair her hair. Finished with a voluminous bouncy blowout to show off all that dimension and movement! ✨

This partial lived-in blonding brought back that soft, dimensional brightness while keeping the grow-out seamless and low-maintenance. Finished with a light trim and cool-toned finish for that effortless, blended blonde 🤌🏼✨ I advised she needs to return within 1-2 months for gloss and trim maintenance to help remove more of the dry and damaged ends from hot tools.

Gray Blending Correction ✨

When gray blending isn’t following your natural salt & pepper pattern, the goal isn’t always to add more lightness—it’s to bring back the depth and dimension that naturally belongs there. 🤍🩶

For this correction, we used 2 custom Wella Shinefinity formulas to better color-match her natural pattern: darkening the back where she has more pepper and softening the blonde in the front where she has more salt. The previous lightening had removed some of the depth she naturally needs, while leaving the blonde unevenly lifted and warmer than desired.

Rather than putting her curls and overall hair integrity through another aggressive lightening process, we chose the more budget-friendly + hair-friendly route: a customized glaze to soften the warmth, create better harmony, and blend everything together while preserving her beautiful curl pattern. ✨

She’ll be back in about 1-2 months for a refresh so we can see exactly how the color fades, reassess, and tweak her formulas if needed. Gray blending is a process, not a one-size-fits-all formula! 🩶
