Looking back now it's hard to believe May will be 10 years since my first facial. I was clueless about pretty much everything when it came to my skin. All I knew was everything I tried even DR recommendations just made my skin worse. So my skincare "research" involved finding the best foundation to cover everything.

Everything changed for me when that Esthetician told me she could help me. As I worked with her, I became more curious about skincare and becoming an esthetician. Exactly a year after my wedding my husband went with me to tour esthetics schools....and I have pretty much been all in ever since.

Sometimes I wonder where I'd be if I never decided to book my first facial...but truthfully couldn't imagine my life any other way at this point.

A common belief I hear from clients is that their acne is hormonal, so they feel like they have no control over their skin.

And yes, there is truth to that. Hormones are involved in so many processes going on in our bodies. So yes, looking at ways to support hormone balance could help, but it's not the only way to manage your acne.

When I work with a new acne client, we focus on 3 core areas: Skincare Routine, Treatments + Lifestyle.

With your skincare routine, we're working topically to support healthy skin function while balancing exfoliation and hydration. We want to keep dead skin cells from building up in the follicle, keep oil flowing freely to the surface, and support your skin's protective barrier.

Professional treatments support what you're doing at home. They also allow me to get hands-on with your skin, assess how it's responding, and get to know you better so we can uncover possible lifestyle habits or triggers that may be influencing your skin.

That's why when I first start working with a new acne client, we don't look for ONE thing that's causing their acne. We look at multiple areas that could be contributing and focus on the things we can actually influence.
