Graduating from Mason County High School, I set my sights on barber school, driven to return home and start my own barbershop. The path to achieving this goal was a long process involving daily trips to Lexington for nearly a year to earn my barber license. I arrived home feeling excited but also nervous about this new chapter in my life, and I am deeply grateful to Mark Dearing for securing a great workplace for me for nearly two years.
In July 2019, I opened a new barbershop on what we call "The Top of the Hill". There had never been a barbershop on the top of the hill in Maysville. This was exciting, and Maysville came out in full swing to support me in my new journey. It's hard to believe that it was almost six years ago since I first opened my doors, And the best part is we survived that awful Covid of 2020!
As many of you know my life has been built around Faith and a passion for God and the work of God. I have always told the Lord I will be what He has called me to be, and do what He has called me to do to the best of my ability. For the last little bit now I have been running a barbershop and also preaching out across the country and pursue my calling in the ministry. The middle of last year it became clear to me that God is calling me into a more full time roll as a minster and I began to pray about God’s will in my life and seeking His direction. It became very clear to me this was the path I needed to take. I didn’t want to shut the shop down so I began to pray that if it was God’s will for me to do this He would send someone my way that would take over the shop. And God did just that! The very next day Adrian came walking into my barbershop looking for a place to work. I’m very excited to announce that beginning April 1st, Adrian Echeveste will completely take over the reins of the barbershop! He is going to completely revamp the barbershop, giving it a newer and fresher look to provide a great place for all to come and enjoy an old school barbershop atmosphere. I’ll still be cutting hair coming and going from time to time traveling the roads with my family preaching across the country. Thank you to Maysville for all that you have done for me and my family! A huge thank you to Kory Daniel for two great years of working together building this barbershop and taking it to another level! A huge thank you to Justin Warner and all he has done for the barbershop. When I walked into barber school, my teacher said there is someone else from Maysville that goes to school here. I was then introduced to Justin and it was a start to a great friendship, and later on we had the opportunity to work together. There will be much more details to come, as everything unfolds we will keep you updated. I’m so excited to see what the future holds for the Barbershop!! God Bless!!!
