🌀 Nervous system regulation + Somatic healing
09/12/2026
there comes a point on this journey, where the approach has to change. Where we stop trying to “fix ourselves” and start experiencing ourselves.
🌀Meeting ourselves and our bodies with curiosity and non agenda. Which can feel quiet difficult for those of us who want to “be better, solve the problem, and fix”
🌀 it feels odd to have no agenda when meeting our body / nervous system and self.
but non-agenda give the nervous system a chance to down regulate, and be.
if we keep moving with the intention to fix, push through and force …. we are removing choice and perpetuating the stories and patterns that have gotten us here in the first place.
🦋 when we move from only intellectualizing to experiencing in the body…. we create new inputs and new possibilities.
if you’ve done the therapy and cognitive work but feel like something is missing send me a dm with the word AWARE we can see if it’s a fit ❤️
I’ve sat with hundreds of women in the middle of a session — somatic work, hands-on work, deep work — and watched the same thing happen almost every time.
The moment something real moves through them. Tears. A shaky breath. A crack in the composure they walked in with.
And the first thing out of their mouth isn’t what they’re feeling. It’s “sorry.”
Sorry for crying.
Sorry for needing a moment. Sorry for letting someone witness what was actually happening underneath.
That’s not an emotional issue — that’s a fawn response, live, in real time. Somewhere along the way you learned that your realness was too much for the room.
So your nervous system built a reflex: soften it, apologize for it, make it smaller before anyone has to deal with it.
But when I’m with a woman in that moment, I’m not thinking “this is too much.” I’m thinking: finally, there she is.
You don’t owe anyone a tidier version of what’s true.

Empathy is often a trauma response and it can also be a beautiful gift…. but it usually stems from having needed to be hyper attuned to everyone else emotions and needs over your own… and if it comes with some of these patterns then your still using it from survival vs from the gift it can be

for so many women their problems with boundaries aren’t a communication issue, it’s a nervous system that feels it’s under threat!
we can talk and practice communication skills all day long but if we don’t get to the root cause of why it’s so physically challenging to say no and hold the boundaries then we are just trying to perform a boundary.
and most of the time you either end up with an extreme feeling of guilt, dropping your boundary anyway or being unable to follow through with the communication skills you thought you developed.
because when your nervous system feels threatened everything we know intellectually doesn’t matter.
the true change happens with a body that feels safe and worthy of boundaries, a nervous system that doesn’t collapse in someone else’s disappointment or disapproval.

I know you’ve already done the therapy, you’re self aware and somehow you still feel like you’re living from a survival response, feel guilty setting the boundaries and spend a lot of time overthinking and dissecting things.
👉🏼 maybe you’re wondering when this will actually change or what you need to do for you to actually live without the anxiety, guilt and bracing.
🌀 here’s what you need 👉🏼 to create a new felt experience in your nervous system.
🌀 to increase pleasure and oxytocin and the capacity to hold that
🌀 to get fluent in the language of your body so you can live from beyond the mind and without anxiety
🌀 to process somatically not just intellectually
