The hands on work is done… but

there’s notes, room resets, sanitation, laundry, checking out, rescheduling, messages…

All before the next client walks in ! 🤣 🤍

Easy, simple, my absolute favorite set up.

Pillow for the head,

One to hug- helps mama feel secure and not exposed. It also provides support for the upper body while applying pressure to the back and shoulders.

A sturdy and firm bolster for the legs- this one is my absolute favorite. It keeps mamas hip, knee, and ankle properly aligned.
This provides support during the session as well 🤍

Prenatal sessions are my happy place 🤍

😅 I laugh because it’s true and cry because… it’s how I ended up in my current situation 🤣

Take this as your friendly reminder to listen to your body… it’s the only one you have.

Prevention seems like it’s “too much,” we’re busy, it’s “expensive,” or we’re “doing fine right now,” we say we’re going to take time here or there but we don’t.
Suddenly we find ourselves in pain, appointments are weeks away, and then we hope and pray that one session will hold us together until we can get back for the next one.

My friends, if I have learned anything through this season… it’s so much easier (and cheaper) to plan ahead and do the preventative care than it is to be forced to stop doing what you love entirely.
While I am able to work again now, it’s at an extremely limited capacity and it’s been an incredibly difficult journey.

Listen to your body. 🤍

I had a client the other day , as we were chatting before the session they said…

“I’ve had massages before, and I don’t want to say I’m picky.. but, let’s go with I’m particular! I have tension and knots in my neck and shoulders and I don’t want a fluff massage, I want relief!”

My friends, I am particular too! 🤣
I felt this clients words in my soul.

I have been in pain or requested specific work and didn’t receive the focused work I requested. I felt brushed over.

I’ve also been in the same situation and had the therapist do some of the best work I’ve ever experienced.

So what’s the difference?

No therapist works the same way. No matter how similar, no matter the training, no two people perform the exact same approach.

That’s not a bad thing!

That’s the beauty of massage therapy.

Each therapist has a unique approach and skill set. While we won’t be “perfect” for everyone, we will be perfect for those who match our strengths and our therapeutic styles.

For some I can be a lackluster therapist.
For others, I can be the best therapist they’ve ever seen.
And that’s 100% okay.

This is why I love networking with other therapist!

And honestly, those experiences are a big part of why I created my sessions the way I did.

When you need relief, I want you to feel heard and I want you to experience relief.
When you need relaxation, I want you to experience a terrific massage AND leave feeling refreshed.

And clients, it’s absolutely okay to be particular 🤍

If I could go back and tell my younger self anything regarding my massage business…. It would 1000% be to be confident in yourself and your work.
Majority of the time we hold ourselves back out of fear, fear of failure, fear of the unknown, because we think we aren’t good enough, we compare our journey to someone else’s or we lack the knowledge of the steps it takes to get there…
Confidence in yourself and your work makes all the difference.
I look back and see that I held myself back for so long.
What would my journey look like if I hadn’t?

Monday morning truth to start your week. Stop letting your ideas and talent go to waste because of a lack of confidence. ☀️

Right now, someone less skilled than you is about to pass you, simply because they believe in themselves more than you believe in yourself, and belief moves first, every time. Talent alone doesn't get chosen, promoted, or noticed. Talent paired with the nerve to actually show up does.

Your mind has been sitting on ideas it's too scared to say, work it's too scared to share, opportunities it's too scared to ask for. Meanwhile, someone with half your ability is out there asking anyway, and getting the yes you were qualified for months ago.

Confidence is the decision to be seen at all, even before you feel ready. It was never about already being the best in the room.

This week, be the one who raises your hand. Talent that stays hidden helps no one, especially not you.

Send to someone who needs to see this. 💪

For a long time, I thought becoming a better massage therapist meant learning more techniques.

Continuing education is incredibly valuable, but one of the greatest lessons I learned?

It came from paying attention. Being present.

The longer I’ve been in this profession, the more I’ve realized that no two clients are the same. Every person who gets on my table has a different body, a different history, different goals, and a different way they respond to touch.

The moment I stopped trying to make every session fit a routine and started listening to the person in front of me (verbal AND nonverbal communication), everything changed.

My sessions became more intentional.
My clients experienced better results.
And I found a deeper appreciation for the work I get to do every day.

Presence isn’t passive—it’s one of the most valuable skills a massage therapist can develop.

Tuning in and noticing when they tense their muscles or hold their breath, squint their eyes or inadvertently jerk. Those are key signals you should pick up and make adjustments accordingly.

Massage therapists, I’d love to hear from you:

What lesson has made the biggest impact on your career?

Burnout doesn't heal on the same timeline it took to build. That mismatch is why so many people feel confused when a vacation doesn't fix what took years to create. 🧠

Your mind and body built patterns of chronic stress over months or years of running on empty. Undoing that takes real time, often one to three years of consistent repair, not a weekend of rest.

That's just an honest timeline. Rest still matters. A bubble bath still matters. They just aren't the whole recovery. They're one piece of a much longer process your mind needs to fully reset.

Take the long road here. Real repair was always going to take longer than a long weekend.

Send this to someone who thinks they should be over their burnout by now.
