Another piece of our history gone...Dolly will be truly missed...

💔 Heartbreaking news for the world today: Dolly Parton has died at 80.

While her roots will always be tied to Tennessee, Dolly had a special place in New York City, too—from receiving the Key to the City in 1978 to inspiring limited-edition MTA MetroCards and preparing to bring her life story to Broadway this winter.

Tonight, NYC will say goodbye in its own way: the Empire State Building will glow pink from 9:25 to 10:25 p.m. in honor of the country music icon. 💗✨

The official list comes out on September 1st, and the challenge starts October Ist.

Why release the prompt list early? To give you lots of time to prep and get references ready! I have a lot of fun stuff planned! I’m so freaking excited for this year ya’ll!

What is Birdtober? For the month of October I have supplied a daily prompt list with a different bird for each day. This is a daily creation challenge!

You can draw, paint, sculpt, or whatever you choose your medium to be! The goal is to create everyday!

Then post your bird on Instagram using the hashtags and and tag me Andrea Holmes | Dallas Mural Artist

For the last 8 years the Birdtober community was amazing and I discovered so many wonderful and talented artists from around the world!
