Lice Lifters of Collin County
Lice Lifters - One treatment and done!
Friends.....school is starting! See these top 5 tips to prevent lice while starting your new school year!
1. Avoid Head-to-Head Contact
Lice spread mainly through direct head-to-head contact, which is common in classrooms and during play.
2. Don’t Share Personal Items
Hats, helmets, and scarves
Combs, brushes, and hair ties
Headphones and pillows (e.g., during nap time)
3. Keep Long Hair Tied Up
If your child has long hair, keep it braided, in a bun, or tied back. This reduces the chances of hair-to-hair contact and makes it harder for lice to climb aboard.
4. Regular Hair Checks
Do quick weekly scalp checks at home — especially behind the ears and at the nape of the neck. Early detection makes treatment easier and limits spreading.
5. Educate and Stay Informed
Talk to your child about lice in a non-scary way, so they know why it’s important not to share items or touch heads. Stay in the loop with school alerts or class-wide notices about outbreaks.
Reminder - Over-the-counter kits often fail because of extensive lice resistance, with effectiveness in the 20–30% range. Don't waste your time and money and give me call me if you have any questions or need any additional information 469-209-1250!
