Our Gus & mascot of our salon has crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈Gus was our greeter, snuggler, lunch partner and 4 paw friend. He loved his mama more than anything! Gus always got the first hello when any of our clients walked through the door (let’s face it how could you not, he’s was so sweet laying there on the floor). If he wasn’t there when you walked in the door EVERYONE always said, first thing “Where is Gus”. We will always love you Gus! We are heartbroken by his loss…. Happy New Year! The new year brings the promise of change and that means change for Hier and Haines Salon. After much consideration and contemplation, I have decided to not renew my lease for the salon. I need to focus on my future retirement and the well being of myself and my family. These past two years have been financially crippling and have forced me to think of my future more immediately.


This decision was only possible because I was able to find a wonderful place for my team and I to relocate to that would be an ideal environment for our clients. Thankfully we will be moving to Eclips Salon & Spa in downtown McLean. Eclips Salon & Spa was my salon home for 20 years prior to beginning Hier & Haines, and their team has welcomed all of us warmly. This opportunity offers us more education, a wider client base, and an atmosphere that harbors creativity. Eclips Salon & Spa uses the same color line and sells the same retail products as we do at Hier and Haines Salon. Additionally, they offer more employee benefits than I was ever able to. For all these reasons, we are excited for this opportunity!

What does this mean for you, our valued client???

Well, basically just a new parking lot and different view. We will be starting at the new location on April 5th. Eclips Salon & Spa is approximately one mile down Old Dominion Drive from our current location. If you have an appointment on or after April 5th, it will still be scheduled as it is at the new location. Eclips Salon & Spa also uses the same software system we use, so we look forward to an easy transition.

Eclips Salon & Spa goes to great lengths to provide a clean and safe environment. They also currently require a face mask at all times and provided space for social distancing. Disinfection practices are followed strictly.

As April 5th approaches, we will be sharing more updates. Hier and Haines Salon has been my baby for the past 15 years. The people within these walls mean so much to me, both the team and our clients. I look forward to the future and hope you will continue the journey with us. Change can be scary, so if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out and let us know. Thank you for all the years you helped make my dream a reality and for being a part of our special place.
