-Use warm or cool water; hot water can dry out your hair, scalp, and skin

-Use a scalp scrub as needed before shampooing; this allows loose dirt or dandruff to loosen before being shampooed out
-Don't braid or pull your hair up when wet; hair allows more tension when wet so once dry it can cause breakage
-Use a scalp oil or treatment to hydrate the scalp
-Apply lotion or oil after a shower; do this when still damp to lock in moisture
-Use a body scrub before using body wash; this allows for dead skin to be loosened before being washed off
