A cancer diagnosis comes with an entirely new vocabulary and questions you never expected to ask. There is so much to take in, and all of it feels urgent.
Then someone mentions your hair...
The words may barely register at first. There is already so much to think about. Then it becomes your hair, your reflection and one more deeply personal thing changing without your permission.
Being told it may happen is not the same as being ready.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which brings important conversations into the open.
This is one of them. Hair is not more important than health. But recognizing yourself in the mirror can matter greatly when so much feels unfamiliar.

Today, Heather and the b.LUXE team had the incredible honor of joining the New England Patriots Foundation for the Patriots Day of Pampering at Gillette Stadium, part of the NFL’s initiative. 🤩✨🎀💗
The day began with a special welcome from Patriots legend Andre Tippett, Executive Director of Patriots Community Affairs and three-time Hall of Famer. 🏈❤️
Fifteen cancer patients and survivors from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Massachusetts General Hospital were invited to spend the day being cared for, celebrated and, most importantly, spoiled a little. 💗
For Heather Cohen | Wigs & Toppers MA , the day was about something we see every day in our salon and wig studio: the impact hair can have on how you feel when you look in the mirror.
As guests move through treatment and into recovery, their hair can change in ways they may not expect. Heather spent time offering personalized hair consultations, answering questions about regrowth, wigs and toppers, and helping each guest understand the options available as their hair continues to change.
We were also so happy to send guests home with a b.LUXE gift 🎀✨
The entire day was filled with thoughtful experiences, including yoga with the Patriots Cheerleaders and special activities and treats from Muse Paintbar | Paint & Sip DREAM SPA MEDICAL and Kendra Scott

Gray blending isn’t one formula or one finished look. It should be customized to the person sitting in the chair. 💁🏼♀️
For this transformation, Senior Stylist Sandra Wilkey blended the natural gray with blonde, added a soft base at the root, then brought in strategic lowlights to restore depth and dimension.🤩
Why add darker pieces when you’re blending gray?
Because as hair becomes increasingly gray, it can sometimes lose the contrast that gives it movement and shape. Adding carefully placed depth can actually make the finished color look softer, richer and more natural.
The result is dimensional blonde that works with her gray instead of fighting against it, with a grow-out designed to feel much more seamless.
Gray blending can mean embracing more gray, softening the transition, adding blonde, adding depth, or using a combination of all of them.
