~keepin it casual pjs + bedhead style~
sorry for little hiatus but I officially haven’t been to the gym in a WEEK😱 who even am I?!?
Old me would be HATING me right now..but as I’ve progressed through this “health + fitness journey” I’ve learned to listen to by body and let me tell ya she was SCREAMING for a break. So I’m not mad at myself. I’m actually feeling fantastic. Yes it’s definitely time to get back in the swing of things but I was *exhausted* both mentally and physically. Could I have pushed myself to workout last week? Sure..but honesty I would have been more upset that I was having bad lifts (which could result in injury) so I made the executive decision to get my life together for a week. Being in a wedding + midterms do NOT go pair well together! I spent the week catching up on school, studying, and SLEEPING (legit slept 12 hours last night 🙌🏼👏🏼).
My body hasn’t changed in the last week. I’m still where I was a week ago. If anything it’s better than before bc it’s well taken care of! That’s right peeps the gym isn’t the only way to take care of your body..I’ve got one midterm standing between me and some normalcy..finally! I’m feelin good and so ready to get back to crushing workouts💪🏽.
Let me know what you want to see next!🙃

BSB said it best *Everybody, rock yo body* I think they were talking about dancing but
Let’s talk body image...I’m not here to tell you that fit is the only way to love how you look (because even I struggle). Learning to love yourself and the way you look on any given day is SO important. Having a negative body image is detrimental to your mental and physical health. These pictures represent what I would consider my best, my worst, and ~3 weeks ago.
I’ve found that I am 1000% harder on myself than anyone else. I see things (aka flaws) that no one else sees. I look in the mirror and almost always my first reaction is a sigh. “Wow I’m bloated” “ugh I’m breaking out again” “look at that cellulite” and the list goes on. This reaction has been a lifelong issue. I’ve just never really felt “good enough” in any aspect of my life. It’s so easy to focus on what you find wrong with yourself rather than the good or the progress you’ve made.
Now I know my “worst” may be someone’s best yet and my “best” may be someone’s bad day. The way we perceive ourselves is so different than what others think of us...you never know what someone’s going through....
Cellulite is inevitable. I’ll live with it. Stretch marks, oh well . A little extra fluff, okay I’m eatin good💁🏻‍♀️. It’s time to stop aiming to look “perfect”. It’s never gonna happen. I’m tired of being so hard on myself (in every aspect of life). Baby steps, but body POSITIVITY is the new goal. No more self hate, just learning to love myself + my body a little more everyday.

Well, here goes nothing! I started sharing my fitness journey (as well as some other struggles) on my Instagram a few weeks ago. I chose to share this journey through my "fitness funk" to try to motivate myself. Never in a million years did I think it would motivate and inspire others. By no means do I think I am an "influencer", nor am I trying to be (but I mean I wouldn't say no if it happened, lets be honest 😜). I'm just a normal 24 year old trying to make it through each day living as healthy as I can...but it's not always easy. So not only will I happily share workouts, fit tips, food, etc., I'm also more than willing to share the struggles of a college student in her last year, living her life to the fullest...not always making the healthiest choices. Of course this is a "health + fitness" page, but I'm here to keep it real!

I also want this page to be a place to ask questions, give feedback, request food/videos, etc. Tell me what the people want!!! I'd also be more than willing to make a closed group for this page as sort of a "safe haven" if you would like to keep your questions/requests more private!

Anyway, I truly hope this page will benefit whoever follows! Lets better ourselves one day at a time while motivating, inspiring, and encouraging others! :)

Let’s talk TRANSPARENCY...“transparency” and “being open” about my current struggles. So I figured today I’d keep it real with y’all.

Rest days are soooo important so I took one today...but for all the wrong reasons. I woke up feeling gooooood for the first time in a while. Had to make up a half day of clinic then had the rest of my day planned to a T. Well things happen and I ended up @ Panera w/ my mom + sis for lunch and 1000 cals into some *bomb* Mac n cheese (that dang mac + cheese got me again🙄). I was overly full and immediately started beating myself up over the fact I had gotten off track so easily. This led to a nap (ya girl LOVES naps okay), which led to skipping the gym so I could study + babysit.

So I spend most of the day thinking “if I’m doing this for me, why did I do this to myself”... well girl bc mac + cheese is 🔥 and you’re legit always tired and it’s OKAY to have a moment.. there’s always tomorrow. So I’m gonna finish off my day being mindful of that little lunch bender and hit it hard tomorrow. I always live by “everything in moderation” anyway.

Learning to not be so critical of myself in this “project comeback” may be harder than actually getting back in shape but I’m a work in progress and so is this fitness journey. That being said..eat that donut girl. There’s always tomorrow 💪🏽

Well, here goes nothing! My name is Ellen Stewart and I am a 24 year old Radiation Therapy student, fitness enthusiast, Memphis tiger lovin’, nap queen☢️💪🏽🐯👸🏻 I’m starting this page because I’ve been in a bit of a “fitness funk lately”.
I started this fitness journey ~ 3 years ago. I was used to being “fit” from sports growing up and one day I looked in the mirror and realized the Mac + Cheese and Taco Bell was catching up to me a little. At first I started working out and tweaking my diet bc I didn’t like the way I looked...fast forward a year or so and I was doing it for ME because I loved how it made me feel...that being said, I’ve been lacking ALLLLL motivation in the gym lately. I’ve been STRESSED about school/money/life/etc. which was causing me to stress eat..which made me feel terrible...which made me wanna nap instead of hit the gym. And guess what realizing I had gone from looking/feeling my best to feeling my absolute worst STRESSED me out even more. So it’s officially time for a “project comeback” (). Gonna start from scratch and stick to the basics. Really focus on mental and well as physical health. Better diet, focus on mind to muscle connection, form, and all over strength. I’ve always loved following insta/YouTube fitness blogs for inspiration/motivation but today I recorded a little of my workout and realized that I’m my best motivation! I’m doing this for me and no one else! So I think I may start incorporating more posts like this on my social. I’m sure I can’t be the only one that gets in funks right?! So if you don’t like these posts feel free to unfollow (gonna try not to care what people think of me anymore 😬) or maybe I’ll be able to motivate someone else along the way🙃
