Memphis, TN - On Sunday, July 29 the Nail Institute of Memphis will be hosting their first graduation and one year anniversary.
Serving as Tennessee’s first independent school for manicuring, the Nail Institute of Memphis opened as a result of the 2013 law passed by State Rep. Antonio Parkinson. The law allowed for freestanding schools for manicuring, natural hair, and aesthetics.
The ceremony will take place at His & Hers Banquet Hall located at 3071 Directors Row and will begin at 3pm.
“We are excited about our first graduating class from the Nail Institute of Memphis. These graduates will go on to open new businesses in our communities and deliver professional services to consumers,” says Kamecha Wilson, school owner.
Students complete 600 hours of training prior to graduation. The institute’s option of day and evening classes allow students to finish in close to six months. Graduates must then complete the state exam to become licensed.
