Facial balancing is about WHERE THE LIGHT HITS. 💡✨

One of the biggest misconceptions about facial balancing is that it’s simply about adding filler everywhere. It’s not.

When I assess a face, I’m looking at light, shadows, projection, angles, proportions, transitions AND asymmetry.

And here’s something important: the human face is NOT naturally symmetrical. One side may sit higher, project differently, carry more volume, or catch light completely differently than the other side. That is NORMAL.

The goal of facial balancing is not to make both sides of your face identical. The goal is to create visual harmony.

Where does the light naturally hit?
Where do the shadows fall?
Which areas need projection?
Where could additional structure improve the overall balance?
And most importantly — where do we need to leave the face alone?

Sometimes a very small adjustment to the cheek, chin, jawline, nose or another strategic area changes how light travels across the entire face.

This is also why I don’t treat both sides of every face exactly the same. If the anatomy isn’t symmetrical, the treatment plan shouldn’t automatically be symmetrical either.
