Along with unwanted hair, some clogged pores and surface buildup were lifted away during this Brazilian wax.
A blackhead forms when a pore becomes clogged with oil and dead skin cells. When that buildup is exposed to air, it oxidizes and turns dark in color. Blackheads can happen anywhere there are hair follicles and oil glands—including the bikini area—and they’re not a reflection of hygiene.
One of the reasons regular exfoliation is so important is because it helps remove dead skin cells that can contribute to clogged pores, ingrown hairs, and uneven skin texture. Combined with a consistent waxing routine, exfoliation can help support smoother-looking skin and healthier skin turnover.
Waxing is primarily for hair removal, but seeing some of that surface buildup lifted away is always an interesting bonus! ✨
