Each year, our chapter members have the privilege of nominating and selecting our Delta of the Year. This honor is awarded to a chapter member who consistently exemplifies the core values of our sorority through her unwavering commitment to sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. The Delta of the Year supports our Sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, actively engages in chapter and community programming, and overcomes barriers and obstacles with dedication and grace.

This year, our chapter has chosen Delta Jamillah Norrells as the 2025 Delta of the Year. Affectionately known as “Jay,” Delta Norrells was initiated into Theta Pi Chapter, Rust College, Spring 1991. She has contributed significantly to our chapter, serving on numerous committees and is known for her strong organizational skills, focus on continuous learning, and her ability to develop and implement best practices for efficient and effective operations. She brings a positive, high-energy approach and a personal touch to her work. Beyond celebrating happy moments, she is a source of comfort and support during challenging times, demonstrating true sisterly attributes.

Delta Norrells is deeply committed to ensuring the growth of Shelby County (TN) Alumnae Chapter by welcoming new Sorors and fostering their development. She embodies the values of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and inspires those around her through her dedication, innovation, and unwavering spirit.
