The Golden Years

If you need a screwdriver, an antacid, or a spare diaper, just check Grandma's bag. 🧰✨

Call me old-fashioned, but I like knowing exactly how broke I am the moment I hand over the cash.

This is so true. Just let it go. You will be better off.

Loving from a distance is sometimes the highest form of self-respect ☕💔

Pamela Anderson took the stage at an amfAR gala this weekend and said what she had never fully said before. Receiving the award of courage, she revealed that when she was diagnosed with hepatitis C in the late 1990s, her doctor told her she had roughly 10 years to live. She was a young mother. She said that news "turned my life inside out" and quietly shaped every decision she made, not out of fear for herself, but fear of what would happen to her kids.

When a cure finally arrived about a decade later, Anderson said she was offered it early but had to drain her bank account to access it, because insurance did not cover it yet. Rather than relief, what followed was guilt. "I felt tremendous guilt that others weren't granted the same access," she said. She campaigned publicly for awareness and pushed to reduce the stigma, but admitted her public face did not match what she felt inside. "I was angry and scared," she said.

Now free of the disease since 2015, Anderson says she still hasn't fully recovered from that original diagnosis. She credits the arts with helping her heal, and closed her speech with a pointed reminder: courage expands a life, while fear shrinks it, and every person in that room is quietly fighting something the world cannot see.
