What I love about weddings and personal branding shoots is I typically get to set the hours of application. I am BIG on time. I always plan MORE than enough time versus not enough time. I’d much rather a client be ready early than rushing because there wasn’t enough time. And I pride myself on my clients either being done early ( which so many clients are grateful to have the extra time to gather themselves) or right when I said they would be done.

When I haven’t worked with a client before, I actually plan 3-hours of getting ready. I know that might seem a lot, especially to my natural goddesses that I get to work with; but it doesn’t mean you are glued to the chair for 3 hours. It’s time that we get to play, connect, and ENJOY the process. For me, it’s not just about the application, it’s the whole experience.

Imagine getting a massage and it’s only 30-45 minutes. You’re usually just starting to relax within the first 30.. then it’s over!
Now imagine a massage that’s an hour and half or two hours! So nice.. you get to sink in, relax, enjoy.
I had such a wonderful experience getting ready with for her shoot, playing beauty, and having such a great deep conversation. THAT’S what I love about my work.

Never underestimate the gift of time.

Gung Hay Fat Choy !!! 🧧 I had a wonderful flash back to this beautiful, kind, generous woman who is now a mama! This was a bride turned friend, and even though we don’t see each other all the time, I know she’s always there 💕. We had so much fun creating two different looks, one for her Chinese tea ceremony in the morning and then her other ceremony that she celebrated with family and friends hours later. I loved being with her for the full day supporting her and being creative with the changes! I love you ! And happy new year to you all! 🐯

I am so grateful for ALL of the brides, branding clients, vendors, collaborations, beautiful beings I got to work with in 2021. In addition to all of the wonderful women I got to work with, I FINALLY planned in 3 months and had my own wedding that kept being put off or had to be delayed during a 4 year engagement.

It was so interesting being on the other side of the wedding industry!

My biggest suggestions to all of my future brides out there, so many people tell you to, “be present” to take it all in, but what I realized is THERE IS SO MUCH TO BE PRESENT TO on that day! I even spread my wedding over 3 days and only had about 20 people and still each day there was so many moments to be present to. The day after my wedding I was fearful questioning myself if I missed everything. The day and moments go by so fast, I was afraid I didn’t really “take it all in.” SO, I HIGHLY SUGGEST the day after your wedding, grab a journal, write on your phone, computer, iPad, and write down EVERY MEMORY AND DETAIL YOU CAN REMEMBER. When I started to write down my memories, more memories came to me and by the end I was so grateful for getting it all out of my head and down on paper because it showed me, yes, I was present, I do remember, and I have great memories. Then I/ you can look back at it and never forget.

Justin and I decided to have just our immediate family on top of Blue Mountain in Olympic National Park in Washington State, where Justin grew up. It was intimate, magical, and perfect to say the least. I am so grateful to angels like for helping me plan and prepare, the musicians who hiked it up the mountain with their instruments, and ALL of our family who helped bring things up and down to make a special moment for us all.

I am so excited for the weddings and amazing women I get to work with this year, and being much better at sharing these beauties here.

It’s the little things like boba on your wedding day that makes it special :). I had so much fun getting ready for her wedding and being surrounded by her warm family and friend (who was a previous bride of mine :) ). There was lots of laughter, fun, amazing food, and boba that made the beauty process a morning to remember.

What special some thing can you add to the morning of your wedding day that would be uniquely you and some thing that feels like a treat on your special day?!

How to be bold and still natural… I LOVED working with gorgeous for her wedding and her vision of pops of color and also keeping it natural. Her turquoise earrings paired so well with the colorful purple toned lip, keeping her skin healthy and glowy, and light on the eyes. I was so excited to see the final look come together.
