So much happened this year, but the most impactful moment by far was watching our oldest graduate from high school and head off to college nearly 700 miles away. It truly rocked me to my core and shifted life as we knew it. While Brandon’s decision to attend “The National Treasure” was fully encouraged and supported, it didn’t make my mommy heart ache any less.

As the weeks passed, we slowly found our new normal with him being so far from home-and he thrived. Going to class, building a social life, and getting involved in organizations on campus… we honestly couldn’t have asked for more.

Early on, Brandon privately made a decision that he was going to earn a 4.0. When I realized he was being a little hard on himself, we reminded him that we were proud of him and he didn’t have to put so much pressure on himself for us. Without missing a beat, he corrected us-this was for him. And lo and behold, he did exactly that.

We were already so incredibly proud of this young man, but this… this unlocked a whole new level.

I’m excited to see what 2026 holds for him-and for the rest of us. May God’s favor, hand, love, and protection never leave us. 🙏🏾❤️
