"How often do I need a curly cut?"
The answer to that is an individual one, but on average, I see guests for curly cuts 2 to 3 times per year.
If you are maintaining a shorter style, you may want to come 4 to 6 times per year but in all honesty, if your cut grows out nicely, every 3 to 4 months is perfect.
You can always come in for styling and or conditioning appointments in between to keep your hair healthy and beautiful.
Plus, I'd love to see you more often!

I will admit that the transformation pictures and video reels are so much fun!
But at the end of the day, what is most important?
It is important that you felt listened to and that you left your appointment feeling confident to style your hair at home.
Most likely you will only see me a few times per year for your curly cuts so it is imperative that I leave you with the knowledge to care for your curls at home in between salon visits.
When you share your experience in the form of a 5 star review, you make my day!!! Thank you!!!

To scoop or not to scoop, that is the question.
When you "scoop" your hair into the bowl of the diffuser, your hair curls around the fingers and dries curled.
The key is to scoop and hold it in place for 10 to 20 seconds then move on to the next section.
If you are quickly moving the diffuser up and down, you are disrupting your "curl clumps" and creating frizz.
Take your time moving intentionally section by section to "set" your curls.
When you scoop your hair into the diffuser, you are encouraging curl.
If you desire elongated curls, then you will hover the diffuser.
At your New Guest appointment, I will explain step by step how to set your curls for a long lasting style.
Of course, you will get a refresher at each appointment after your first one.

Does oil eliminate frizz?
In my experience, there is no one product that will eliminate frizz.
How much frizz you are experiencing is dependent on many factors.
Is your hair dehydrated?
Do you have buildup on your hair that is blocking moisture from getting in?
Are you sleeping without protecting your curls?
Did you fully "set" your curls on wash day?
While I love to use Innersense I Create Shine to soften the cast after "setting" curls, it, by itself does not eliminate frizz.
Do you need to figure out how to tame the frizz? I am here to help you!

Did you know that your hair products have an expiration date?
And, no it isn't just to sell more products. If you look on the back of your products, you will see a little jar icon with a number on it.
If it says 12M, that means that it expires 12 months after opening.
If you're using a spray or a product that pumps out, you may be able to use a little longer as you are not introducing possible bacteria and it is not being exposed to air.
If you are scooping products out with your fingers, or pouring from a bottle, you will want to toss it once the 12 months is up.
If you have old products under the sink, now is the time to clean house!

What is my first curly appointment going to be like?
It is a 2 to 2 1/2 hour appointment where we will start with a full consultation. We will discuss your hair goals and go over what products you are currently using and what is and isn't working for you. We will start with before pictures (just for you or for my social pages if you give the ok).
I will explain as I go, how to detox, wash, condition and apply styling products.
I will show you step by step a styling routine based on your individual goals and lifestyle.
We will take after pictures,.
I will provide you with a gift bag with some of my favorite tools to help you achieve salon results at home.
Visit www.thepamperedcurl.com to book your first curly cut and style and finally understand how to care for your curls.
Once
One of my favorite products is Innersense Hair Love Prep Spray.
It provides thermal protection while you are diffusing your hair, adds body and style retention.
I usually spray it on after I have created the curl clumps with a Bounce Curl Edge Defining Brush.
Then I gently squeeze out the excess water with a microfiber towel.
Diffuse until 100% dry before "softening" the cast.
