It’s official… we’re changing our name!

When I took over Designers Plus last November, I knew I wanted to take my time before changing the name. This salon has been part of our community for many years, and it was important to me to honor what was built here while creating something that represented where we’re headed.

Sister Golden Hair started with a little bit of personal meaning. Like many midwestern kids, I was raised on 70’s soft rock and it has always been one of those songs that feels like home. Being one of four sisters & having 2 girls of my own, there was something about the name that just felt right.

But somewhere along the way, it came to mean something even bigger.

This salon is home to independent beauty
professionals, each building something of their own. We have our own clients, our own styles, our own businesses and our own goals. However, we get to do it alongside women who support one another, share ideas, celebrate the wins and make the hard days a little easier.

And that’s what Sister Golden Hair has come to represent. A place where you can be independent without being alone. Where there’s room for each person to grow, create and build something they’re proud of while still having a sisterhood beside them.

The name on the building may be new, but inside you’ll still find familiar faces, some wonderful new ones, and a whole lot of excitement for what’s ahead!

✨Introducing Josepha’s Hair Lounge by Josie! ✨

This sweet gal has been by my side since I moved in back in November. We were complete strangers and honestly a bit nervous about each other at first. We quickly discovered that we jive quite well together. I really couldn’t ask for a more supportive and kind person to start this salon ownership journey with. As a former salon owner herself, Josie’s insights and advice are incredibly valuable to me. I will truly miss working out front with her but am happy to see her fulfill her dreams of having her own studio. Thankfully she’s still just a quick walk down the hall when I need her! 😅

Earlier this month we gained another talented hairstylist in the building! Welcome Kristina Lofink aka Studio 715 by Kristina. With just 3 weeks left until I graduate cosmetology school, I’m so excited to finally see the finish line! This journey has challenged me, helped me grow, and confirmed that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.

I’m beyond excited to officially announce that I will be continuing my career at Designers Plus in Merrill, Wisconsin! I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and can't wait to put everything I’ve learned into practice while continuing to grow behind the chair.

I’m looking forward to meeting so many new clients, building lasting relationships, and continuing to learn from such an amazing team. My online booking will officially open during the first week of August, so be sure to keep an eye out!I’ll be sharing all the details soon, and I can’t wait to welcome you into my chair.

We are thrilled to announce that Kristina Lofink is joining the Designers Plus family! She will be moving into one of our new private suites starting July 1st. You might already know her, as she brings nearly 2 decades of hair experience in the Merrill area and actually began her career here at Designers Plus years ago.
