Originally from South Carolina, Pitts became acquainted with politicians and diplomats while working as a barber at the Sheraton-Carlton Hotel in Washington, D.C. In 1970, he was invited to open a small barber shop in the basement of the West Wing, where he served as barber to presidents Richard M. Nixon, Gerald R. Ford, Ronald Reagan, and George H. W. Bush.

Just a reminder to my clients. I offer Mobile haircuts in the Mesa, Gilbert, AJ area in the afternoons. If you or a family member can’t get out and about, I’ll come to you. I’m really glad I started doing this. I’ve noticed my primary clients are older folks in nursing homes with the services being purchased by kids and grandkids from far off states paying with cash app. Something I hadn’t really anticipated. I think it’s fantastic. These folks light up when they see they’re getting a haircut and it almost doubles their joy when they know their daughter/son/grandkid sent me to them. I think they also enjoy the new face company from the outside world. Frankly, I feel bad when leaving some of these places because I look around and some of these older guys and gals look really haggard. Clearly their appearance an oversight on behalf of who’s caring for them. If I could afford to and had the time, I’d have them all looking sharp.
So with that if you’ve got a grandpa or grandma in a home, regardless of where they are. You might think about checking in and making sure there’s someone coming by doing more than just the washing and cleaning. The institution isnt responsible for Haircutting, nails etc. Some of these places have a small salon room available, but even that comes with an extra charge. Many don’t have anything and it’s just simply overlooked. When we look better, we feel better. I’ve seen it firsthand 🙂
