Let’s talk about touch ups/cover ups!

When is it time to get a touch up?
We want the brows to be faded enough and be able to see through the old pigment. If they are too saturated, the new pigment will not be able to trump the old and will fade prematurely. Think of it like a top off. When your skin ages and clears itself out from the inner to the outermost, it will push the colors out, and the newest work will go first.

When do I need removal?
If it has been more than 5 years since you had your brows done and they are not fading, chances are, they won’t fade to where we need them and you most likely have unwanted color hues. This would need a removal. Think of it like a white T-shirt. Once you spill spaghetti sauce on your white, you need to bleach it and fully remove the stain as much as possible to move forward.

Still see red?
Red is a left over hue that is hard to remove. When considering getting laser removal, search for a technician that uses a PICO laser. It is safe on the brow hairs and will effectively remove old pigment.

What finally convinced me to get my own brows done? After years of doing research and seeing so many lash clients with their brows done, I was set. I didn’t want anything dramatic but just a little help on my over tweezed brows.
Having brows was hard getting used to, but once .photos did my business headshots, I was convinced that brows helped create a more put together look on myself.
With a busy schedule with kids and everything else I am so glad I don’t have to worry about my brows being combed over and showing my bald tailsđŸ«Ł
My only regret is not doing it sooner!

Let’s talk about building the brow👇

I first tell my clients that any adjustment is a huge adjustment. For example when you get your hair done, even if it may be a trim, you are thinking it’s so much shorter! But give it a few days and you will love it!

I love to take the conservative route in the initial appointment because I don’t want to shock you too much especially if you are coming from having no brows at all. And leave it to our children to ask “what’s wrong with your face” after any new change😂

After the initial session we can choose to go more dense in hair strokes or keep them how they are! Majority always want to go more full after the initial shock is gone. This also allows us to continue to create crisp clean lines without blurring the old ones.

When too many tiny cuts are done in a row, they have a tendency to bleed into each other while healing. So I will save the fine details for the next session to make it all perfect and come together!

Have questions, I’d love to chat!😘

Did you know that some artists use numbing and some do not?! See that white halo around her freshly done brows? I use a secondary numbing with epinephrine that minimizes blood flow to the brow area. This helps with the pain as well as better healing results because you won’t have the swelling and bleeding during the procedure. I love to make my clients as comfortable as possible😘
Before any appointment be sure to ask your brow artist if they use first AND secondary numbing đŸ«¶

I always tell clients who don’t normally wear makeup and don’t have very much hair, that “any adjustment” is a “huge adjustment”. I love to do the first session conservatively so that when you come back for your touch up, you are confident and know for sure that you want to go more bold or stay the same. We can always add or go darker, it’s harder to take away. Consultations are key🔑

My biggest pet peeve is when artist say “oh you need powder brows”, just because that’s what they want to do and they don’t care about what look you are wanting. Let me give you the brows you have been wanting! With a thorough consultation we will discuss your wants and your skins needs for the best long term results!
