The Olsons moved here from Denton, Texas, about five years ago, and in that time have become part of the fabric of Madison Avenue. I first met Galadriel years back and have watched her become a steady presence in the district, someone who shows up and builds something lasting alongside her fellow amazing women-owned businesses on the street. She told me the idea for Way Cool Video comes from a love of film and physical media. Old-school video. DVDs you can hold in your hands. At a moment when streaming dominates, this feels like a return to something tactile and social. Younger visitors are discovering what it means to browse, to choose, to take a risk on a film based on a cover and a hunch.
