Hope and renewal are possible and happening. I can get discouraged and pessimistic but a bee never does. Even when some iteration of the hive struggles and passes away, they are reborn with all their optimism and hope for the next life and colony. They never stop dreaming of flowers and flow. I love this precious life of mine. I will never feel the unbridled patriotism of my early years during the 200th bicentennial but how I am now is even better. I love learning history as it helps my present understanding. My eyes are open to historically correct and accurate events and struggles that have shaped where we are today, and now I’ve had 50 years of my own lived experience in the USA to add to the depth of my clarity. I choose to live in a super mixed multi-racial and ethnic city that doesn’t speak English as its primary language in actual practice. I choose a “hive” of America that is inclusive, inventive, caring, holistic, and able to hold duality and hold each other. Being a beekeeper helps me keep it simple in my day to day and connects me to the best of friends. Thanks for reading my patriotic thoughts today and being on my little life’s journey with me here on social. All of this matters like one bee does to a colony and I appreciate you.

Something Patch of Heaven Sanctuary Primal Bee in beekeeping as satisfying as this must be shared. Hot bees (and cold bees too for that matter I’m sure) need insulation. They choose it in natural settings and now I’m providing it as their beekeeper here in sunny, hot-as-can-possibly-be Miami. And I’m happy to announce that indeed, the bees we have transitioned so far are doing amazing.

Bees are such cool builders. Imagine if they designed a home for humans.

What a special little extra visit we did today outside Minneapolis. We visited one of the few Bee Houses that’s built for Apitherapy in the US currently. Ruth and Austin custom designed this space so that bees and people to cohabitate happily. They welcome in individuals and groups for curated bee experiences and some people even come in from out of state like us! We loved it so much. We are so happy with the new Primal Bee Hives at Patch of Heaven Apiary. Bees are happy and so are we! Really grateful to make the switch to the most insulated hive style available anywhere. We have brutally hot summer season for six months of the year and it’s only getting more intense each summer. The thick 50R insulation provided by these hives gives the bees the comfort to grow in such a healthy way. We will keep you updated as we monitor our 20 hives from summer to fall.
